Aladdin magic

Children's theater group putting on classic story

The magic of "Aladdin" will be brought to the stage by nearly 40 children from the Bowling Green Youth Theater this weekend.

But don't expect to see Disney's "Aladdin" movie when you view the age-old tale brought to life.

"This "Aladdin" is closer to the "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp" story, although all the fun characters, like the monkey and an evil character and the beautiful princess from the Disney movie are all there, said producer Heather Bitterling.

"Aladdin" will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Van Meter Auditorium on Western Kentucky Universitys campus. It will also be staged at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $5 for ages 4 and up. Children 3 and younger will be admitted for free. Tickets will be available at the door.
