    After "Pirates," Bloom goes legit

    After "Pirates," Bloom goes legit

    May 23, 2007

Orlando Bloom is going from A-List heartthrob to the London Stage. His next roll after "Pirates" is to play a lead in David Sorley's play "In Celibration."

Doesn't necessarily means no Pirates 4. Orlando already said he's open to another sequel, as well as Johnny Depp but it's better if they do it in a few years from now if they're going to do it at all.

This is a good move for Bloom. After so many big-budget period pieces and fantasies, it's time to shift gears and prove he can do something else. He certainly has the talent.

Well, you know, I feel for Orlando. He's a great actor. If you watch the first Pirates and focus on him, he's terribly funny. But it's hard to be Johnny's straight man, especially in this role. He keeps getting called talentless and nothing more than a pretty boy, and I don't think that's fair. I hope live theatre serves him well.

And, no, I'm not just saying this because he's hot. While I admit to that fact, I'm more of a hobbit girl, myself.
