Strangely, DisneyShopping just recently released another item to commemorate Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. Nearly two years after the 50th, it looks like this item is a straggler - but an amazing straggler, indeed.
Mark Twain Riverboat Replica - $399.00
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Disneyland®, Park Walt Disney Collectibles presents this superb replica of the paddle wheeler Mark Twain. A feature attraction at the park since it first opened, the Mark Twain -- named after the pseudonym of author of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, a favorite of Walt Disney -- was reputedly the first paddle wheeler constructed in half a century when built in 1955. This near perfect model of the original sternwheeler, before its later addtions, is intricately detailed in resin and metal and arrives in a commemorative box with original poster art and stained-wood base with metal custom plaque. With its free moving wheel and fine attention to detail, our reproduction of the Mark Twain is a fitting tribute to the enduring appeal of this Frontierland centerpiece, which still plies the waters of the Rivers of America today and remains a continuing reminder of one man's dream come true.
