'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' script review

Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time

Written by Jordan Mechner, revisions by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

This is the script for the film based on a video game that Jerry Bruckheimer is going to produce with Michael Bay directing.

As many of you will remember if you've read this blog regularly, I posted about the review of the script for POP that "latinoreview.com" did a week or so ago.

Imagine my surprise when a copy of said script arrived on my doorstep in a manila envelope marked: "Top Secret"... ok, ok... that's a little bit overly dramatic. Let's just say I have connections that have connections and someone sent me a copy of this. Now for my review of the script:

    Wow.

    Really big, wow...

This is going to be an EPIC movie. Think of it as "Gladiator" set in the world of "1001 Arabian Nights" with a little of the time travel from "Back to the Future" thrown in. Michael Bay has the Herculean task of casting, filming and completing this Arabian adventure in less than two years. We should be hearing about casting soon if this one is to meet its release date.

Could we possibly see 'Prince of Persia' take over, say, Adventureland????

It sucks that Michael Bay is directing. Disney should have gotten somone else. It is guranteed to have more explosions than every other Disney movie ever made combined.

If it does turn out good, POP might be in WDW's Adventureland, but I highly doubt there is any room in DL's Adventureland. Maybe POP could be in DCA at DLR, even though POP has nothing to do with California.

Anybody else find it wierd, that 2 of the POP games were rated M and Disney is going to make a movie based on that franchise?

I would still hold my breath about Disney's God of War though.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was rated T for Teen. I beat the game and from what I remember, there were lots of zombies and swordfights, but no blood.

The two sequels were rated M, and were a lot darker.

(Oddly enough they redid the second sequel for the Wii, and it was re-rated T.)

yeah I know the Sands of Time was T, but it is still weird for Disney to have anything to do with a franchise that has ever had a 17+ branding.
