    Sharon Morrill is out

Sharon Morrill left Disney Toon Studios yesterday. She was one of Eisner's people who championed direct to video cheap sequels that helped destroy Disney's image and walmarted the disney name. I think they made a very smart decision by removing her.

Now I just hope Jay Rasolu, Tom Fitzgerald, and Eric Jacobson are next...these guys just don't understand the concept of quality products.

    It's about time.

With Eisner's progeny being vanquished, the pall over the kingdom is finally lifting.

Hi Everybody! I am a longtime lurker and now new poster to MiceAge. As I watch, with much joy, the changes made throughout the Kingdom, I am struck with a particular image.

Remember the Christmas special Santa Claus is coming to town? Well, the picture I get is of the Burgermeister Meisterburger (voiced by Paul Frees) portrait being trashed by the good towns folk. Within the Mouse house, this portrait is of Eisner. It sure is a nice thought to see this legacy pushed by the wayside.

Looking forward to many great discussions.

Ding, dong the witch is dead!

Sharon was the Walt Disney of crap sequels, micromanaging every awful detail. She apparrently wasn't prepared for a whole new world of oversight from actual creative animation folk...

As Nelson would say: ha ha.

I hope jim is wrong about the new division working on playhouse disney stuff...I would rather they phase that garbage out too and either begin work on reviving the Disney Afternoon collection (Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Tale Spin, Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, etc.) or create original content (I remember hearing that a concept for a Frankenstien direct to video movie was proposed but morill shut it down....I like the idea of them making small budget animated movies based on original ideas)

Frankenstein is a novel by Mary Shelley.
    Not quite original.

    Re: Sharon Morrill is out

    >>In an inter-Disney email supplied to AWN, Morrill writes: “DisneyToon Studios has gone through a lot of transitions in the last couple of years. We have had some time to assess our business now that John and Ed are on board and we have all agreed that I will step aside from my role as President of DisneyToon Studios. I enjoyed 15 wonderful years working for the Walt Disney Company. And I’ve had the privilege of working with so many talented people such as you. Thank you.”<<
