Snoopy Camps Up Fashion
http://www.brandweek.com/bw/index.jspLicensing agency United Media, New York, is shopping a campy Peanuts couture line called House of Snoopy.
The plan is to have the beagle gracing high-end T-shirts and other fashion items at trendy boutiques. A style guide shows Snoopy designs that playfully parody fashion icons such as Juicy Couture (re-imagined as Snoopy Couture). Currently, Junk Food and Mighty Fine are Peanuts apparel licensees.
Additionally, Peanuts will take to runways during fall fashion week in September as designers such as Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson and others interpret characters in apparel. The line will be for show only; it will not sell at stores. The first House of Snoopy togs are expected to reach retail in fall 2008.
