That movie scared the bejebus out of me when I was a kid. I've been terrified of clowns and man-eating trees ever since.

In the special features section of the DVD they are going to be talking to some paranormal investigators and following them on some investigations. I got interviewed while we were at the Olivias Adobe in Ventura where I was doing some EVP work near the altar in the family chapel.

Poltergeist was a fun movie, I'll definitely be picking it up in October!

Scary clowns, and JoBeth Williams in her underwear—how can you go wrong?

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Re: Poltergeist to be re-released

That was the first movie I can remember as a kid being totally scared of. I don't think I've endured watching it that many times since. Still is a little unsettling.

I would like it if they did do one of those one-night, big screen releases of it because I don't think I'd need to own it.

Clowns are evil and so is this damn movie. So many things I wont do because of this movie:

I will ever have a clown in my house or around me
I will never eat left over anything except pasta
I *never* drink the last sip in a bottle (movie #2)

    Re: Poltergeist to be re-released

    Oogie, that's awesome!

"Poltergeist" scared the bejeebus out of me when I was a kid and it's still one of those movies that whenever it pops up on TV I'll stop to watch.

It's still scary as an adult, but now I see it as a morality fable about the excesses of upper middle class suburbia. That's scary enough on it's own, poltergeists or not!

I'll be sure to pick up this DVD when it's released. Thanks for the heads up!

Wow, I was 12 when that movie came out, and I was just so impressed by it - by the effects, the great story, the mix of the dark mood of some parts of the film and the humor of other parts - great movie.
