TEEN magician Harry Potter has had a bad spell, coming just THIRD in a poll to find the world’s favourite wizard.
Lord Of The Rings hero Gandalf, played by Sir Ian McKellen, won with a magical 44 per cent of votes.
Professor Albus Dumbledore, brought to life by Sir Michael Gambon and previously by the late Richard Harris in the Potter films, came second with 17 per cent.
Author JK Rowling’s hero Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, conjured up just nine per cent.
Merlin the magician, from Disney’s The Sword In The Stone, was fourth, followed by the wonderful Wizard of Oz from the classic 1939 film.
The poll of 3,000 movie fans was carried out by cinema advertising firm Pearl & Dean.
Spokeswoman Kathryn Jacob said: “When it comes to movie wizards the bigger the beard the better. So young Harry simply can’t compete!”
