After 18 years with ESPN as a television and radio announcer, Dan Patrick will leave the Disney-owned sports network next month. Patrick made the announcement today during his radio show.
Patrick was an anchor on "SportsCenter" from 1989 to 2006. He's hosted his own show on ESPN Radio since 1999.
In a statment released by Patrick, he said, "I feel privileged to have had this opportunity and I have extremely mixed emotions about leaving. With that said, I told ESPN that I believe it's time for me to try something different, something that will also be challenging and rewarding. While I'm not sure what that will be, I am grateful to ESPN for its willingness to allow me to pursue new endeavors."
Patrick will broadcast his last ESPN Radio show on August 17th.
