Pirates of the Caribbean: The Television Series

Not sure if this was mentioned around here yet: http://www.dapsmagic.com/disneynews/...le.php?id=5887

"JOHNNY DEPP's PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN character JACK SPARROW will feature in a new television series. Disney is reportedly planning to make a TV spin-off of the swashbuckling franchise with Sparrow as its main character. A source tells British newspaper The Daily Star, "The idea is that we focus on a much younger Jack Sparrow and show fans how he became a famous pirate. "The film has been such a success with spin-offs such as toys and video games and books, it only seems right to do a TV series." It is hoped a host of high profile celebrities will provide the voiceover for the series. The source adds, "Since the film attracted guests like of Keith Richards, you can imagine the stars who will want to pop up in the television show."

My question is, is this going to be animated or live-action? Because they mention "voiceover". And will this be like "Young Indiana Jones" and "Young Hercules"?

"With this place, I wanted to give them something real, something that wasn't an illusion, something they could see and touch. An aim devoid of merit."

Pfft. I'm at LEAST going to give it a chance. It just depends on how young they try to go. If he's at LEAST 20 in the series, it could be good. It depends on who's involved and everything, though.

Probably a Disney Channel exclusive, so not to worry, the kids will love it!

If it were animated, and for kids, I'd be okay with that... but a live action series??? Not good. I don't agree that they should have stopped after the first one, cause I liked the others, but this will definately take it too far.

Ridiculously lame, but knowing Disney really not at all surprising. If anyone knows how to bleed every last drop out of a property, it's Disney. My question is, how long will each episode be? They'll need at least an hour for each episode in order to cram enough poorly written, convoluted storylines in there for it to be a true Pirates show.

I think live action would be better than animation, and if it follows the prequel books and is on Disney Channel than I'm okay with it. At we know for sure that the 4th pirates won't be a prequel.

If Johnny Depp is in, I'll give it a fighting chance.
