Disney-ABC signs Orange deal

Pact covers VOD service for U.K.

`Deja Vu' will be among the Disney titles
available on demand via Orange's Brit TV service.

Disney-ABC Intl. Television has signed a multiyear video-on-demand deal for digital TV and PC with Orange U.K.

In the first content deal for Orange’s planned British TV service, the mobile operator will offer subscribers VOD films from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films.

Titles include “Deja Vu,” starring Denzel Washington and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the John Travolta and Tim Allen comedy “Wild Hogs,” and the Oscar-nominated “Venus,” starring Peter O’Toole.

Orange provides a TV-style service to subscribers in France, Spain, Mauritius, Senegal and Poland.
