Wouldn't it be better to release it the week of Thanksgiving? Imagine all the people going to buy it on Black Friday if they would have done this instead...
Any word if they are going to sell a box set of the three pirate films?

I know with LoTR they came out with the movie and limited features, then after the last movie, they started releaseing the extended features double dvd sets. Then after all those were out, a three disk set. I very well could be remembering this wrong, but I think thats how it played out.Aww crap, really? They aren't going to do a box set?

They can release it in November, and sell 'X' amount of discs... OR they can wait until mid December and sell the same boatload of discs PLUS all the last minute Christmas Shoppers, becasue the DVD marketing will be fresh in thier minds.

Might also be to give them time to put it onto dvd's. Though that can't be too much of a factor being that previous films that tanked at the box office have been released on dvd real fast.
They may need time to format all the extra footage and bonus features as well.
Another reason could be for the award nominations. The major ones like the globes and others come out in December. Now I don't know if it's the same for the globes, but if they would wait until at least the end of January, they could have a chance to be nominated for Best Picture if it was deemed worthy of it. If a film gets released on dvd before the oscar nominations come out, best picture is the only award it cannot be nominated for.
