Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?
    I guess Pearl Harbor sucked

    Re: Michael Bay Films

He likes to blow stuff up and his action scenes are great, but in between that, his work is horrible.

The in betweens of Transformers was horrible and the script... How many times does Megatron have to say "I am Megatron" before we finally get it? I got it the first time he said it.

I'm sorry but Michael Bay get's these awesome ideas pitched to him, has the potential to make a great movie with a great storyline possibility along with great actors (in most cases) and he finds a way to screw it up. I don't know how but he does. Pearl Harbor, Transformers, Bad Boys all could have been great classic movies...yet they aren't.

Not to mention his in-the-works remakes of Friday the 13th and The Birds. I suppose I don't hold him entirely accountable for all that he has done. Michael bay is kind of the Darth vader to the Evil Emperor of Cinema, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Am I being a film snob? Yeah I suppose. But it saddens me to see that MB is making a living off of exploiting the lowest common intellectual denomenator. Furthermore I am not saying every movie should be a message movie or IMPORTANT in some way. Fun is what the movies is all about. But don't insult me by asking me to follow a predictable plot with characters that are paper thin who are spewing dialogue that is full of cliches while the soundtrack booms with explosion after explosion. Not my cup of tea.

Intellectual movie snobbery from the man who danced gleefully when getting his poster for Snakes on a Plane? I have pictures!

    Love ya Fishy

..and I love Michael Bay movies. I love Armageddon and Transformers especially. Not ashamed to admit it

When I find one I actually like, I wont be ashamed to admit it either, I just haven't found one yet. The closest one has come is Armageddon. It's not too bad and had a few funny scenes in it.
