Why would you buy a box-set of the first 5 films? Why not wait until you can get all 7?

But we will most definatly be getting this when it comes out. Thanks for the info.

I am curious that if they have this much "Extra Never Before Seen" footage from all the movies, does this mean that after all 7 movies have been released in the theatrical versions, do we get a big boxed set of all the movies in "extended" format, meaning all that missing footage is put back in where it should be? Sort of like Peter Jackson did with LOTR?

I doubt that they'll pull a LOTR with this... they would've released them in some format by now if they were follow the same pattern.

I'm planning on getting the Blu-Ray set. Should be nice. Then I'll just buy the last two films separately.

I would LOVE IT if they did that. But I really can't see it happenening.

With LOTR they actually went back and shot additional pick-ups for the DVD's even after the movies were released in theatres. So basically Return of the King came out in December of 2003, the extended DVD's came out in October of 2004, they were actually filming pick-ups for the DVD's until July/August of 2004. Heck, there were stories of them flying back to New Zealand for more pick-ups the day after they won all those Oscars.

With Harry Potter you can't do this because the kids are much more grown up. You would have thought after the success of LOTR they would have picked up on this and started doing it (it's not really necessary for films 1 and 2).

Maybe there is some-way they will do this after film 7.

Re: Harry Potter Phoenix DVD 12/11

I don't think they can do a LOTR thing with Harry Potter. From what I understand most of the cutting didn't happen in the editing room, but rather when the wrote the script. So bascially most of the omitted stuff was never filmed in the first place. I don't think they could re-shot either, because the kids have aged over the course of the films.

    It would be cool though.

That's cool how there will be HP 6 sneaks.

But I wonder if they're just sneaks at the story, or actual film clips.
