Re: 'Narnia 3' moves to 5/7/10 for 'G-Force' on 5/1/09

    G-Force
    Director:Hoyt Yeatman
    Scribes: Cormac and Marianne Wibberley
Synopsis: In this family adventure, a team of genetically enhanced guinea pigs working as spies for the U.S. government must stop a deranged billionaire's plan to rule the world through household appliances.
Lowdown: Currently the pic is planned to be a combination of live action and CGI in the vein of "Stuart Little." A notable sight gag in the film: When the guinea pigs talk on their headsets, it looks like they're chewing. Yeatman is a notable visual effects artist from previous Bruckheimer pics.

    G-Force
"Babe" may have paved the way for smart talking porkers, but it's "G-Force's" team of genetically enhanced guinea pigs working as spies for the U.S. government who look likely to bring home the bacon in this live-action/CG family adventure. Combining good clean fun with comedy and cutting-edge effects, this project puts former vfx supervisor Hoyt Yeatman ("Crimson Tide") in charge of directing. Finding new behind-the-camera talent (Yeatman also worked on "Con Air" and "The Rock" and came up with the original idea for "G-Force") has always been part of the Bruckheimer equation.

Because of the kids growing fast, they should release the Narnia movies as quickly as possible like Harry Potter.

Im loosing confidence in Oren Avi's decision making.

The Narnia movies need to be released in sucession like Lord of the Rings and harry potter.

I agree, except that I think they really should have made "The Magicians Nephew" the first release. That film would have explained Narnia's beginnings and it would have set up all the stories to follow.
I think that's why C.S. Lewis wrote it after the series became so popular... so that folks would understand where Narnia came from.

Funny, someone elsewhere mentioned Disney making a G-force movie. Like him, until I read this synopsis I thought that they meant the US version of Gatchaman. Shame that it's not.

At least we now know when Narnia 3's coming out. When's 2 coming though? They've really sat on this too long. The hype's pretty much gone.

The release schedule of Narnia is gonna hurt disney in the long run...

But when you think about it... There won't be much left after a while... This is why I think Disney's live action film unit is in trouble...

I completely agree. I've long been concerned about the slow production schedule on the Narnia films. They should have been prepared to immediately start preproduction work on Prince Caspian as soon as the saw whether LWW was a success. Caspian should have been ready for a summer 2007 release or a Christmas 07 release at the latest with each subsequent film following about 18 months later (like the Harry Potter films). They are counting on alot of pent up demand for this enxt summer and I hope it pays off. At least in the Narnia books Peter and Susan start to phase out of the series, and eventually Edmond and Lucy do too. So the fact that they are getting older should not hurt the films too much.

In trouble because there's not enough in the development pipeline, or because of dreck like "The Gameplan," or because you think they're going to abandon live action and basically just become an animation studio?
