    'Hannah Montana' film in Development

    Source: http://www.buddytv.com/articles/hann...h-montana.aspx

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus recently set a record for being the youngest artist to have two chart-topping albums in under a year. To add to her remarkable success, the 14-year-old singer and television actress is now set on making her mark in the film industry.

Cyrus attended the Sunday premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and while there, she told MTV News that a film adaptation of her hit series is being planned out.

"Now we're figuring out ideas for the Hannah Montana movie," she said. "And yes, it's for the theaters, so hopefully I'll see you there.”

Miley Cyrus, who plays Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on Disney’s hit show, also revealed that her co-star and father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is set to produce the film.

"He's never done anything like this before, but my dad is ready to take on new challenges,” she said.

Since writers are still working on the script, Cyrus is free to share whatever ideas she may have for the upcoming project. She said that, so far, the best concept she has thought of involves going back to her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

"The best idea is that I miss home," Miley Cyrus said. "So if we could maybe film in Nashville and everyone could see our house and where we live, that we have a farm, that would be really exciting."

Since Hannah Montana is taped at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Cyrus spends most of her time away from her beloved home. She spends up to eight and a half hours a day working on the set, but her hours could get longer once she becomes a legal adult.

Although no other specifics regarding the film have come out, Billy Ray Cyrus was generous enough to share with MTV some general details about the script. "There'll be a lot of similarities [to the show], and the fact that Miley is so real, her music is real, we'll keep a lot of that realism," the 45-year-old country artist revealed. "But I think we'll go a little further with the comedy. And it's going to be on the big screen, so we'll try to make everything look bigger."

Yeah, I've heard about this too. I read about it briefly in an article.

I'm surprised they are already thinking about it at this point.

Then again, Raven was supposed to get a movie in theaters, and that never happened.

I'll be interested to see what becomes of this.

I think it was just going to be something like That's So Raven: The Movie.

That might haven not been the title, but it was supposed to be based off the TV show.

And also, I remember Raven was supposedly going to have a spin-off series on ABC where she went off to college. Don't know what happened with that either.

So like Raven, who knows what will happen with this Hannah Montana movie.

God, if there's one Disney channel star that I can't stand it's her. She doesn't seem like a nice person.

Ugh... I can so see Lil LL dragging me to this movie (if it's made). She loves Hannah Montana and wants to be a superstar like her.

I have not met Miley, but I've met many people to prove to you that she is not.

I've met her dad, her creative director, and her grandma.

They all are nice, and all agree that Miley is a great person. She gives back a lot to the community and she is VERY fan friendly, just like her dad. She's learned from the best.

I will meet her very soon, thats for sure.

So this College Road trip, is it going to be based off of That's So Raven, or is it just starring Raven.

I didn't know about the remake of Adventures in Babysitting. I wonder what made Disney pick Miley so quickly.

I still remember when Billy Ray Cyrus´ "Achy Breaky Heart" was the most popualr song like yesterday, I was surprise to know he´s the father of Hanna Montana...
Oh my... Time goes by extremely fast
Now daughthers and sons rules XDD

By the way, I only like her song "Nobody´s perfect", I am not fan of teens new era.
We don´t wanna be like you. Don´t you get that King of Fools?
You're the blind to lead the blind. And I walk the wicked way!
Uno, dos, ya viene por tí
    tres, cuatro, cierra la puerta,
    cinco, seis, mira el crucifijo
    siete, ocho, no duermas aún
    nueve, diez, nunca dormirás...

I don't recall ever seeing anything in print regarding a Raven film, just the Cory spinoff. Here's another cast member and brief story blurb:

Arnetia Walker ("The Big House") has joined the cast of Disney's "College Road Trip," starring Martin Lawrence and Raven Symone. Roger Kumble directs the tale of a father and daughter's cross-country trek. Walker plays Lawrence's mother, who hides her active lifestyle from her overprotective son.

Her credits include "For Love of the Game" and "Everybody Loves Raymond".

This sure doesn't sound like a Raven-themed film.

And Miley Cyrus was probably added based on her (& the 'HM' show) massive popularity. Plus she could be add to the soundtrack and cross-audience demographics appeal. Cold, hard simple Disney in-house math.

Re: 'Hannah Montana' film in Development

I remember reading a tiny blurb (maybe in an interview of the Disney Adventures magazine) and it made it seem like Raven was going to get her own movie (based off the show). It said expect filming next year, and the article was written in like in 2005.

So I guess it fell through.
