    Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, again?

    Hi,

I saw a Nightmare Before Christmas 3D sign at the AMC theater near the Disneyland Hotel and then I asked some people on Sunday, if the Nightmare Before Christmas was going to be out again this year.

The people I was with were saying yes. But they think only in select theaters.

They would be correct. Since I read on the sign and remembering it saying select theaters.

So, far my local theaters are not saying just yet. But I just wanted to ask the people here. Did you hear about Nightmare Before Christmas 3D coming back?

I missed it last year so I definitely want to see it this time around if it's anywhere near me. I watch this movie every Halloween (that and The Crow).

Me too. I hope it comes to the theater near me again. I love to go out and see it. Nightmare Before Christmas never gets old with me.

It is coming back this year. I've already gotten word from my agent that I should get my first royalty check from it being rereleased in a few weeks.

If anyone has seen it, does the 3-D aspect detract from the experience at all?

That is awesome to hear. I do hope you get your "royalty check". Well deserved.

Not in the least. I saw this last year and thought that the 3-D conversion was very nicely done. It adds depth and realism to the film.

No, the 3-D aspect does not detract at all. This was originally done in 2-D which is nice because if it was made specifically for 3-D there may have been a few gimmicks thrown in just because...

As stated, the 3-D does not detract at all. This is nothing like a traditional 3-D film where the biggest attraction is objects appearing to come towards the audience ("Did somebody say cheap 3-D tricks?!"). Instead the 3-D effect is used to make objects appear distant, adding depth so that it looks more like a stage performance.

Re: Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, again?

It will be running in 3-D at the El Capitan in Hollywood, Ca. I saw it last year and it's like watching a whole new movie. Since the film was made using 3-D stop motion puppets, the 3-D look is already there, this conversion adds the depth and realism to make it a wonderful experience, and no headache after the movie. This new Digital 3-D is amazing. I know a lot of pictures coming up in 2008 are going to be in 3-D. Beowulf and all Dreamworks animated movies are going to be in 3-D as well. James Cammeron and George Lukas are both advocates of the new process.
