    Honoring Scrooge McDuck

The city council of Glasgow has honored the multi-millionaire Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duckís uncle as one of its most famous residents. The Disney character who began his career as a shoeshine boy in Glasgow before going to the US has been put on a list of famous Glaswegians alongside Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Donald Dewar, Billy Connolly & Sir Alex Ferguson on the councilís website. McDuck first appeared in a Disney comic in 1947. However, his origin was discovered from a 1996 US comic depicting how he was inspired to travel on a cattle ship after he was given an American dime for cleaning a ditch diggerís pair of boots.

This is AWESOME! It also just shows how worldwide these characters are. I mean.. I know we have parks worldwide but sometimes I just don't think of them as such. It's the little things that really make the difference.
