Well what can I say? Spielberg is an astute business man. He knew he wanted big, loud spectacle where plot didn't matter as much as noise did. It doesn't make it good or right. Nor does it make a good film.

Hmm...a nuanced, clever storyline and brilliant dialogue?

However failing that, how about explosions every 10 minutes instead of every 5? And how about cutting down on the car commercial shots and kicks to the crotch? And how about fight scenes where we can actually follow the action?

    Re: 'Transformers 2' 6-26-09

    Okay I saw it.

Many things to say. I'll try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible but I might slip up. Basically, if you haven't seen it and are afraid of spoilers, you should best clear out of this place until you have.

-Car Car Binks. It's true. It's pretty stereotypical forced comic relief.

-Revenge of the Fallen? More like... The Continuing Scheme of The Fallen. There's no revenge here.

-All the new characters are SO incredibly generic and forgettable, aside from Car Car Binks (aka Mudflap & Skids). It's a shame that we don't get to know these characters better.

-Robots in disguise? More like Bad Movie in disguise.

-Transformers 1 had a lot of great scenes and action set pieces. This one has a lot of action but not a lot of great scenes. It's chaotic, it's a mess. Story's a mess.

-Bumblebee... talk to me? please? come on...

The movie IS entertaining... but utterly pointless. All I want is to enjoy a simple robot invasion movie. They really tried too hard here. It was so forced. Everything was forced. And what's up with the buggy eyes and crazy mouth transformers? What happened to robots being robots?

It's just frustrating when you sit through a 2 1/2 hour movie and it amounts to nothing.

Just came back from it, and like Coheteboy, I'll give you some good points:

Megan Fox...some humor....and big and loud.

    Other than that...

    Spoiler
Boring as heck. Why? Completely forgettable and the humor is tiring after a few times. Who allowed this to happen? Who said it would be good for Michael Bay's career?

I agree with Coheteboy and Rocker. The movie was EASILY an hour too long and I found myself absolutely bored and waiting for it to end.

Normally I don't have an issue with mindless action movies, but this one was WAY too mindless. Too many times they were trying to get some false emotion out of the audience (the whole scene with the parents), etc.

And come on, balls on a robot??? Give me an effin' break.

Yeah, I saw it with you today...I'll have to agree with you, Coheteboy and sir clinksalot the movie was way too long. I got very tired of the stupid humping jokes. Also the movie made the army and air force look very stupid. Come on who doesn't want help to defeat the Autobots, yeah it's their war but do you think human weapons can stop the Decepticons. When Sam needed to reach Optimus Prime it took so long to reach him and he wasn't that far far away. The movie was overall okay wasn't that good like the first movie. I really think the college part was the most entertaining from the movie. It seems that the first movie had way much more action. We both saw the movie at 10:00 a.m. so we don't have to wait in a long long line. Like I always say "early bird gets the worm".

Oh, and question ... didn't the one general guy (who was the head of NEST) die in the first movie at the first attack on the base in Qatar?
