Disney - Mickey magic show in Malaysia

    Magic in the air
You’ve seen them on ice, now watch your favourite Disney characters create magic ... Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo style!
Led by Master Magician Mickey, an all-star cast of Disney celebrities will step into the spotlight for Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show. In a never-before-seen combination, this brand new show, featuring world-class illusions and produced by Feld Entertainment, will open at the Penang International Sports Arena, Penang, on Nov 3 and at the Putra Indoor Arena, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on Nov 7.
Illusionist Brad Ross levitates Princess Jasmine at Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show as Goofy looks on in awe.
From the producers of Disney on Ice, this show showcases a sequence of magical acts from legendary Disney films, performed right before your eyes ... and by Disney’s own famous five – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy, who will take the stage together with professional illusionists Brad Ross and Alex Gonzalez.
Disney and magic? How exactly does that work? Think Cinderella’s rags turning into a beautiful ball gown in a split second or the enchanted dancing brooms in Fantasia sweepingMinnie off her feet. The Master Magician himself – Mickey Mouse – performs astonishing illusions along with Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother and Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter.
Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show gives children the opportunity to believe, to wonder and to imagine a world where anything is possible,” says Kenneth Feld, producer of the Disney Live! shows and producer of the most successful live illusion show of all time, Siegfried & Roy.
To bring the show to the stage, Feld employed the talents of an elite creative team, including director Jerry Bilik, who has been a member of the creative team for every Disney On Ice and Disney Live! production since their inception; illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer (the youngest person ever to receive The Creative Fellowship award by “The Academy of Magical Arts”) and choreographer Bart Doerfler.
Steinmeyer, a world-class illusionist and designer of illusions for industry legends such as Siegfried & Roy, David Copperfield and Lance Burton, brings his over 20 years of experience to the illusions in the show, which include a dynamic sawing-in-half duet and an awe-inspiring levitation of Minnie set to blacklight. In another astonishing magic act, illusionist Brad Ross levitates Princess Jasmine. The moment is set to a starry night sky, and to the tune of A Whole New World.
Master Magician Mickey Mouse magically leans Benny Boyle, played by illusionist Alex Gonzalez (left), during his linking rings act.
Ross’ interactive style as an illusionist adds another dimension to the show as he brings children up on stage to assist.
Whether it’s making a Magician’s Apprentice tissue paper hat or inspecting a trunk for “The Fastest Escape in the World,” young audience members will have the opportunity to become part of the show.
“In every show we do, we try to exceed audiences’ expectations,” says director Bilik. “With the sheer magnitude of the illusions, we are able to take the audience to a place far beyond what they would ever imagine.”
Promoters of the show in Malaysia, PR Worldwide, believe the show will be a hit not just for kids but for everyone.
“The combination of Disney themes, professional illusions and the star-studded cast of classic Disney characters will bring laughter and cheer as memories are created in this one-of-a-kind interactive experience for the whole family,” says director Para R.
Focusing mainly on family entertainment, PR Worldwide promoted its fifth large-scale ice entertainment this year, after having successfully promoted Toy Story in 1992, Jungle Adventures in 2002, Disney on Ice Beauty and the Beast in 2003, Princess Classics in 2005 and The Magical World of Disney on Ice last year. The Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show will be in Penang on Nov 3 and 4 at the Penang International Sports Arena and from Nov 7 to 11 at the Putra Indoor Arena, Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur. Tickets are priced at RM55, RM155 and RM225 (excluding RM3 Ticket Fees). For more information, call 03-74933010 or 04-6403010 (Penang). For more information, go to www.disneylive.com

This IIRC was the same show that was traveling around the USA. I think it made a stop in Philadelphia not long ago.

Here's the website as there's a problem with linkage in the top post:

Feld should be congratulated for a great concept. We never miss an ice show and saw Pooh Live a few years ago so I hope this will reach a town near us soon!

Not to be a party pooper but it may not... The places Disney Live goes is much more limited than where Disney On Ice goes... and as I used to work for Disney On Ice/Feld Entertainment I know that in some cases they don't even return to the same city the next year... It all depends...
