I'd like to have seen the following on that list:

Army of Darkness (they already have spoof horror on there already)
    Something Wicked This Way Comes
    Blair Witch Project
    Ghostbusters
    The Others
    What Lies Beneath
    Growing older is manditory
    Growing up is however, optional

"Halloween" remains my all time favorite horror movie. I will also never forget the first time watching "A Nightmare on Elm Street". I slept with the lights on for like a week after watching that.

I'm glad to see Jaws made it. Any movie that can keep an entire nation scared to go into the water gets my vote.

A week or so ago saw the New halloween movie that is out. It was pretty scarey.. but I found it pretty gross and gorey (more than the other halloween ones)

Um...would the Rocky Horror Picture Show count as "Horror"? I would definately qualify it as a "Halloween" movie. As i would young frankenstein.

As for Saw; it is the best new Horror franchise of the decade. I'm not even joking when i say that.

I have been traumatized for life with The Exorcist, so that's not my favorite. I have been dying to see Nightmare on Elm Street with Johnny.

I love The Birds and Psycho my favorite Alfred Hitchcock films.

And I don't see Sleepy Hollow on your list with Johnny which is an absolutely must see film for me on Halloween night.

Re: Horror films, what's your favorite?

I think they got #1 on the list right—The Exorcist is the definitely the best horror film I've ever seen. And its a brilliant film on all levels—audio, editing, direction, story, etc.

I've seen almost all of the films on the list, and although I disagree with the order (for example, Shaun of the Dead rated ahead of Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula?? hmmm) they included most of the biggies. Although including Event Horizon on any Top 100 list makes me cringe.

Seeing Dr. Phibes on the list made me think of another film from about that same time called "Tales from the Crypt." Not the HBO series with the puppet Cryptkeeper, but a movie from the early 70's that had a few different stories that were pretty good. Does anyone remember that one?
