'Ratatouille' leapfrogs 'Incredibles' on Disney/Pixar list

Remy the rat leapfrogs 'Incredibles' on Dis/Pixar list

    By Frank Segers
    The Hollywood Reporter
    Nov 5, 2007

Completing its fifth consecutive weekend as the No. 1 international boxoffice attraction, Disney/Pixar's "Ratatouille" served up an estimated $14.5 million from 4,381 screens in 29 territories and raised its international gross to $371.8 million.
In overseas release since June 28, "Ratatouille" continues powerfully in holdover markets. It finished No. 1 in seven territories -- the U.K., Italy, Sweden, Poland, China, Switzerland and Denmark -- propelling its global take to $577 million.

The animation film about Remy the French rat surpassed 2004's "The Incredibles" as the second-most-popular Disney/Pixar co-venture ever behind 2003's "Finding Nemo." It also stands as Disney's third-biggest-grossing animation title behind "The Lion King" and "Nemo," and the sixth-most-popular animation title from any studio.

I'm sure JHM will continue to cling to the fiction that this film was a big disappointment....

That was my exact same thought. I've got to see how Jim Hill spins this one.

It certainly doesn't matter to me, BUT, his stories do get picked up by other media outlets from time to time. So his ridiculous, even monotonous, bashing of Pixar gets really old and is potentialy damaging. "Ratatouille" is now one of Disney's most successful animated films ever (globally), and it deserves all the credit it can get for that.

I doubt the media is gonna rely on him nearly as much when they see "RATATOUILLE A FAILURE" when obviously it's not.

Let's hope not, I have seen the media pick up on Jim Hill's "Pixar Failure" stories in the past and thought that it was pretty pathetic.

"Ratatouille" is the best Pixar film, thusfar. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I look forward to owning it on video, too.
