Has anyone seen Susperia? Our little horror movie night group got to see half of it (due to dvd problems) but we LOVED what we saw.

Also on our viewing list is Last house on the left, The Host, The Descent, The Devil's Backbone, the terrible film called Bloodsucking Freaks, and Alice Sweet Alice starring a very young Brook Shields.
funny you should ask!! I was going to mention that! long story. My parents split up when I was 8 and at that time I had a 17 year old brother. my mother uswd to go out every now and then and leave my brother in charge of us. so you know what he'd do???? get all his friends together and pile all of them plus us sisters (I was 13 and my sister 15 at that time) in the car and go to the drive-in. when we were close, he'd pull over and make us get in the trunk.
One night we saw halloween and susperia.... and susperia was soooooo scary!!! I loved it, and have always remembered seeing it
seems like there's a band out now called susperia LOL LOL

Yeah, Rob Zombie's Halloween was pretty awful. Michael Myers was supposed to be "The Shape" Just evil embodied and not some poor abused kid. Then there was the dialogue. OMG it was bad. Made George Lucas sound like Shakespeare.

I'm not able to watch alot of horror, just too scary for me. But one my husband had me watch was the original Black Christmas with Olivia Hussey and Margot Kidder. Good stuff, and it's neat to see a movie that was a progenitor to the popular horror movie genre.

Also on a side note, I love Shaun of The Dead.

I especially like zombie movies, more now with the newer, "faster" zombies. And plot? If there's enough gore and creative methods of death, who needs a plot?

Same here. Horror movies are my absolute favorite genre of movies. The more cheeseball, the better.

The Alien movies were great, especially the first one. It's old, but when it first came out, it really freaked me out and scared the heck out of me.

I really hate the bloody, slasher kill everybody ones.

The kind I do like I don't consider horror. They are more suspenseful.

i wish, its not playing anywhere here in northern nevada, did you see it? did you like it?

on a horror side note, Horrorfest 2007 is going thru this weekend. Don't go expecting to see large budget horror flicks, most are low budget ones that would go straight to DVD if it wasn't for After Dark's fest. We caught 3 of the movies earlier this week, and just got home from another...4 more to go!

Count me as loving the cheeseball horror!!!
    28 days later
    Shaun of the Dead
Army of Darkness (does that count?? It's a really bad good movie!)

I haven't been watching much lately; it's all been the torture porn that I really don't enjoy. Unrealistic gore- sure. Realistic gore- boring. Saw, Hostel, Chainsaw Massacre... not my style.

I want to see hotties running up the stairs in lingerie with a knife-wielding psycho behind them.

Re: Does anyone like horror movies?

    OH I LOVE horror movies...

the cheesy ones are of course best...

but I love em all.....well almost, I don't really like slasher flix, but they do have their place.

I'm obsessed with Zombie movies (Romero....god, all of his work)
but everything...Resident evil, all of the Dead movies (currently my favorite's are Day of the dead, the newest version in the mall, I just love it...and Land of the dead...Zombies with guns )
    Love Shaun of the Dead....
28 days and 28 days later

but in addition to Zombie movies, there are so many wonderful movies out there...
all of the cult classics, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween (and I actualy prefered the Rob Zombie version) etc...

and then there are the demonic side of things...Excorsist (re-release is the only move to really scare me), Amittyvill horror (original, remake sucked) and so many more.

Or how about Creature movies, All the Alien movies, Werewolves and Vampires...god there are countless movies there.

one of the best werewolf movies I have ever seen is Dog Solders, has anyone seen that? I loved it, I just hadn't expected what I saw...we rented it knowing nothing about it.

And then there are the other movies...

Japanese horror flix, oh I LOVE those...we have had some remakes, The Grudge ( Remake of..Ju On, the grudge) and The Ring (remake of Ringu)
the americanized versions were OK, but I love the Japanese versions.
one that should be released very soon...One missed call...it's an americanized remake as well....I saw the original version a while back. pretty good actualy. as was Reincarnation...it was fun.

then we have fun silly movies like Snakes on a Plane....just laughs al the way through.

Saw was good, but I will not see the sequls (not a fan of slasher flix)
same thing with the hills have eyes, Texas Chainsaw massacre, and things of that nature.

and then there are the disturbing flix...seven I can't watch that one anymore.

Oh I just love this genre so very very much....
