Hong Kong sticks to local fare for theme park
Hong Kong - The American hot dog has found itself usurped by more traditional Chinese fare at the new Hong Kong Disneyland resort, it was revealed on Thursday.

Noodles, fried rice, sweet and sour pork and tea are some of the dishes which will be on offer to visitors when the park opens on September 12.

The Asian dishes represent a change from most Disneyland theme parks. Even the Main Street USA which showcases American culture and is normally lined with hot dog stalls will be serving up the likes of barbecued pork burgers with a side order of Hainan chicken-flavoured rice.

The menu was revealed when a group of 300 journalists were given a sneak peek of the park 54 days ahead of the grand opening.

The park is also planning to serve up traditional festival foods such as mooncakes to tie-in with Chinese mid-autumn festival.
