A Disney-affiliated venture capital fund is getting behind Scrapblog, a startup that enables the creation of multimedia scrapbooks online.

Steamboat Ventures, which invests in digital-media companies of "significant strategic interest" to Disney, is putting an unspecified amount of money behind the company. Disney has already helped Scrapblog generate more than 1 million "scrapblog" pages since its April launch through distribution partnerships tied to Disney promotions for ABC's "Ugly Betty" and ABC Family's "25 Days of Christmas."

"Steamboat shares our vision of enabling creativity online and is continually impressed by the scrapblogs our users create," said Carlos Garcia, co-founder and CEO of Scrapblog.

David Min, principal of Steamboat, joins Scrapblog's board of directors.

Among Steamboat's other investments are Pure Digital Technologies, Quigo Technologies, Move Networks and UUSee.
