I joined my friends who wanted to see AVP-R. I saw that Rotten Tomotoes rated it like a 16%, so I didn't get my hopes up. It definitely wasn't great to me. The action at the end was finally cool, and the very last detail mentioned was interesting to the whole mythology.

I went to see this movie on a goof, and haven't seen the previous movies in this series. I have to say that this movie didn't leave me impressed.

I hated it. I didn't like the first one, and I don't usually remember much about a crappy movie I saw 3 years ago, so I hated how this movie expected me to remember AVP. This movie should have completely ignored the first AVP. The lighting was horrible, it was nearly impossible to tell what was happening a lot of times, and even if you could tell what was happening, I wanted to be able to see it more clearly. There was absolutely no plot. The acting and dialogue was absolutely horrible. The only thing better about this than AVP1, was the few scenes of gore, but even then, it really wasn't that violent compared to movies like Grindhouse and 300. The acting and script were even worse than the acting and script from AVP1.
I love B grade horror and sci-fi, but this made Jason X look Oscar worthy.
