Academy Awards poster for the 80th now out.

The poster for the 80th Academy Awards is finally out. They are a month or so behind.

They will also put out a poster of all the past 80 Best Picture winners in March.

Every year I hold a big party and this poster sort of kicks off the season for me.

Do you think the show will go on?

I hope so!! i always have a party too and it's the 80th this year!! I'm going to be very upset if they don't resolve the strike by then. It's getting ridiculous.

They claim, strike or no strike, that the show will go on. There was talk about a loophole for David Letterman, if his company produces the Oscars...

In any case, if it does go on, the questions are:

1) Will any stars show up if it means crossing picket lines? and

2) If no WGA members write it, will it suck?

3) If we play a drinking game, where you take a shot every time the strike is mentioned, how blotto will you be by the time they give the best screenplay award?

Does anyone remember, maybe it was 10 years ago - when they had a huge stage full of past Oscar Winners? It was phenomenal. Shirley Temple, Gregory Peck, etc...it was phenomenal, in my opinion...and I would surely love to see something like that happen again. The 80 best picture winners idea made me remember this.

I remember that and I also remember the huge round of applause that was given to Shirley Temple
