Saludos Amigos / The Three Caballeros

Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros

For the first time on DVD since the original release of The Three Caballeros May 2, 2000? April 29, 2008

I can't remember seeing it, but probably saw it as a kid, on TV.

I'm excited, I love the early stuff!!

There's also a new version of Sword in the Stone coming out in the summer to replace the Gold Collection DVD. I hope they replace the rest of the Gold Collection DVDs which still include:
    Make Mine Music
    Fun and Fancy Free
    Melody Time
The Adentures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
    The Black Cauldron
    The Rescuers Down Under
    Hercules
There's some sequels that are in still in Gold Collection edition like Pocahontas II.

Not a whole lot. I previewed the DVD over the weekend. Packaging Saludos Amigos and Three Caballeros sounds great on paper, but the results are very disappointing. There are no commentary tracks and no bonus features that put either movie in historical context. There is a companion documentary that was released around the time of Saludos Amigos and a snippet of an interview with Walt, but they're both just tacked on.

Also, Disney made no effort to restore the animation. The prints for both movies are scratched and spotted, even grainy at times. Bad form.

I'll post a full review later this week.

    That's sad to hear.

Come on Disney, let's get the restoration on even the lesser known and less popular movies.
