Dog characters have been a part of the film industry pretty much as long as people have. I thought it would be interesting to pose a question as to the popularity of some of the more prominent k-9's over the years.
We used to have a tree that was planted for a scene in a Benji movie in Astoria in the late 80's....they dug up the extra trees and sold them. My dad bought one.....and I later backed over it in my car. I was 16.
That's about it.
But for the dogs I liked in movies??? Would have to be the one in The Shaggy Dog. I had a thing for Tommy Kirk. And I looooved the idea of hugging that furry fluffy dog!!!
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"
