I just returned from seeing the touring Broadway version of High School Musical, to keep up with my record of seeing all of Disney's Broadway offerings: So far - Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aida (Chicago Previews), Der Glockner Von Notre Dame (Hunchback - in Berlin), Mary Poppins (London), On the Record, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid (Denver Previews).
This was also my first trip to Minneapolis - and its a great city to visit for theater, architecture and art.
The show was well done, and well performed. I have also seen an actual high school production of it near Orlando. This appeared to be the same script used in that production. The audience was mostly young kids and their parents - and predictably well received. It won't go down as one of Disney's most innovative broadway productions, but its as charming and enjoyable as the movie. The set design and lighting were well accomplished, and the actress playing the drama teacher truly made the role her own rather than copying the movie version. The cast was clearly enthusiastic and putting forth a good effort - and its always fun to watch people having a good time doing what they do on stage.

And two restaurant recommendations - Hell's Kitchen, and Saffron.
