Bond.. Who will be the next Bond?

So I hate to say it but Pierce Brosnan, has stepped out of the roll of James Bond.
The recent news from "E" entertainment has the article.

Your thoughts on the previous actors and the future Bond.

I have seen every one of the films and the worst Bond had to be Timothy Dalton. He just seemed out of place for the role.


Sean Connery was the best by far?
Pierce Brosnan second?

So who do you think should be the next Bond?

Wow I never thought about Ewan McGregor. Only thing is he has some pretty good roles. Im not sure if he would do it. Did you mean Clive Owen?
You are right about Jude, to skinny and doesnt fit the part.

I hope this doesn't come across as snooty, but I can't believe the way this story is being reported today. Maybe it's just my perspective because i follow entertainment news regularly, but THIS IS OLD NEWS. It's everywhere today as if it's just come out of nowhere, yet I've been reading the "he's still in"...wait..."he's out"... "who's gonna be next?"... etc. for like a year now.

I would agree that Clive Owen might make a good choice. Hugh jackman has also been rumored for the role in the past, though as much as I like hugh I'm not sure i picture him as Bond. Plus he doesn't really need the role career wise, which if the rumors of just two days ago are true is the reason he turned down the role when it was offered to him.

I say wait and see. It should be announced pretty soon as they hope to have the film released next year I believe. The list of guys who have been rumored for the role at one time or another is so long that I'd almost say that it's nearly impossible to guess where it's gonna go.

Hugh Jackman has already said he will not do Bond.

I thought Pierce was a great Bond...Dalton was just OK....

I think Ewan might have been a good Bond....guess we'll see.....

I don't have any personal opinions one way or the other, but I have heard talk about the guy that played Phantom in ALW's Phantom of the Opera, Gerard Butler may be the next one. He also was on Dracula 2000, the second Tomb Raider, and more recently a movie called Dear Frankie.

I seem to recall him being mentioned in the past also, but he has just signed to play the lead in another film (don't recall the name, but it's based on a Frank Miller graphic novel). If they want Bond out next year, I doubt it will fit in his schedule. He might have been interesting though.

I rank the Bonds like so:

Connery (Of course)
Brosnan (All good with the exception of Die another Day)
Dalton (I didn't think he was as bad as everyone thought he was)
Lazenby (Only did one movie, but did a GREAT job)
Moore (Not a big Moore fan)

I think Clive Owen would be good. Jude Law ... only if you want to ruin the franchise.

I never mention Lazenby, but he was Bond if my very favorite Bond film.

Love Ewan, but not as Bond. He's not suave enough. Clive Owen definitely! In fact, I don't really thing there could be anyone better. He's suave and can be a good tough guy.

I didn't care for Die another Day for that reason ... too much Jinx, not enough Bond. I didn't like the Jinx character.
