Re: Disney sues couple for one million dollars for wearing Winnie the Pooh costumes.

Looks like some people never learn. Disney is reportedly suing another couple in Florida for copyright infringement. While the company (Tio Fiesta) has removed 'most' of the Disney stuff from thier site (tiofiesta.com), it can still be found at http://209.85.215.104/search?q=cache...ient=firefox-a .
Looks like the people at TioFiesta just don't care all to much about the fact that they are contributing to these copyright infringement lawsuits.

If it's any consolation you could probably bust them for singing the birthday song. Not many people realize that that song is under copyright.

On most of the pictures on that site they have their own name with the trademark plastered across them to prevent theft. People amaze me.

Hypocrisy Is: Stealing other people's copyrighted characters and artwork that was licensed for personal use only (ergo, you are stealing by converting them to commercial use), taking pictures of the goods, and then slapping your own copyright notice on them.

Retail stores sell "Party kits" with poster decorations and printed paper plates for private use, and there are copyright and trademark licensing restrictions printed on the package of the last few I looked at. These private entertainment companies like Tio Fiesta buy the kits and glue the paper posters to a piece of plywood to make them last through multiple uses...

Yeah, I never knew why some resteraunts wouldn't sing the regular birthday song so I actually asked them one day and they said that they're corporate wouldn't pony up the dough. ::snicker::
