Wall-E: Great movie! Loved the Special Features on the 3-Disc

Bolt: Chalk up another success for WDAS.

Just to set the mood for the up-coming turkey day my husband put on one of his favorite movies. Has to be one of the funniest holiday movies ever made.

"Home for the Holidays."

It's about as slow as I remember it, but really, after the beginning scenes, it does pick up. Not enough to make it a classic, because I really had to draw some inner patience to keep watching. But I stuck with it and got some chuckles every now and then all the way through to the end. By far the best thing in this movie is Shelley Duvall!!! She IS Olive Oyl in the most complimentary, brilliant sense. Robin Williams is charming, and most of the rest of the familiar characters are well cast and costumed, except for maybe Paul Smith who's too small a Bluto for my tastes. After this, now I wanna find me a copy of Hook to watch Robin Williams as Peter Pan!
Wow! I saw Popeye in the theatre too......I think it was a double feature with The Black Stallion. And I agree - Shelley Duvall was great. She WAS Olive Oyl. I do recall, as a kid, that the movie frustrated me......and I can tell you that when I've seen it on TV in more recent years, I pass it by......but looking back, I remember that Shelley Duvall really did a fine job as Miss Oyl - you are right. And now, I feel WAY old HAHAHAH

Bolt - Loved this one! Disney is back on track with their animated movies. Loved the animation, the voice talent and the story. I hope more people go out and see this one.

Saw Wall-E for the first time last night. What a fantastic movie. I loved it. You can always expect a high quality of entertainment from Disney/Pixar.

Wall-E= 5/5 Stars!

Bolt

It was okay. It was cute, had a good story, but I just wasn't as engaged in it like I was with Wall-E or even Meet the Robinsons. It just didn't do it for me.

I'm hoping it will grow on me once it's out on DVD.

Quantum of Solace: pretty good James Bond movie for being the first part 2 in the whole series. I guess they could do a part 3 for this Casino Royale story line since:
Spoiler
Mr. White is still alive.

I hope they reintroduce Q in the next one, but I hope they get someone more younger and serious rather than bringing back John Cleese.

Quantum of Solace

Really enjoyed it. It was a great action movie and had a good story. Daniel Craig as Bond is starting to grow on me. I don't think anybody will ever replace Connery in my eyes, but I like that he's taking it in a new direction.

In relation to Barbossa's spoiler
Spoiler
I'm kind of hoping they don't continue the story. He got the closure at the end of the film as it relates to Vespa. Mr. White WILL continue as the Quantum organization is probably going to be this series SPECTRE I'm sure.

But Q retired and R is his replacement. And I adore John Cleese to no end. So he stays.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Twice! In as many days. I watched it last night, and then while I was logged in to follow along with the BD-Live chat with Guillermo del Toro tonight, I didn't know they would be playing the film concurrent with the chat. A great sequel, it was fun to see the main characters grow and be set up for what challenges lie in Hellboy III (after del Toro gets a couple of Hobbits outta the way first ).
