I agree. This is so not necessary.

Grease 2 is pretty cheesy though, in a good way. Kinda.

Grease 2 is one of my guilty pleasures! Glad to see I am not alone.

The great thing about living in this country is that you are free to do what you want when it comes to seeing movies. I for one would see Hairspray 2 if it had the same actors.

Re: 'hairspray 2'

any shred of faith I had in the creative power in Hollywood is now, effectively, killed off.

Re: 'hairspray 2'

How is this for some starter ideas for a sequel.

Move the sequel into the 70' and 80's.

Tracy and Link have a son who is gay, a daughter in a punk rock band
Penny and Seaweed are married and have a son who is running for political office, who is attracted to Tracy and Links daughter.

Topics they could deal with: Perms and AIDS in the 80's

Re: 'hairspray 2'

This and the news that My Fair Lady is being remade make me wish that musicals were back to being a niche genre instead of this big come-back they are currently having. We have been pretty lucky with the quality of the new wave of movie musicals so far (even The Producers was kinda fun and Rent was not a total car crash) but its only a matter of time before a real stinker arrives. And this could well be it.

WOOOOOOW!!! If they are going to attemp this, then I agree that it should be moved to another era. We have seen what a 60's Edna looks like, but what about a 70's or 80's Edna? Could be interesting.

It better be fabulous!

How about she has a sex change?

It could work

And it would save money on prosthetics
