![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog GORGEOUS! Hope the studio does it up big in Nawlins like they did for 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', the revenue and attention couldn't hurt. Some previous thread links with information about the film can be found here: 'The Princess and The Frog' update - 7/4/07 http://micechat.com/forums/showthrea...ate-70038.html

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog Quite impressive looking. It already looks like a shoo-in for a tie up with NOS. I hope it works its magic in 2009. |

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog well, yeah, but it's only a teaser. One of the things I like least about the little preview is the music. I don't think Randy Newman was a good choice for this particular movie. His music sounds all the same, whether it's this movie or Toy Story 1, 2, and probably 3, and the rest. This movie really did need a more authentic New Orleans Jazz feel to it. Randy Newman's style is ok, but it makes all music sound like it's being played on an eleven key toy piano. This movie really need a fuller sound than what he's noted for. Last edited by Aladdin; 07-30-2008 at 01:38 PM. |

I think you're underwhelmed because the teaser is playin' it for a simple laugh rather than going "LOOK, IT'S DISNEY'S FIRST 2D FILM IN A LONG TIME COME SEE!" Hopefully the next trailer will be a little more.

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog It looks beautiful. I'm excited. Hopefully the next trailer will reveal a bit more or play it up. I'd expect a full trailer to maybe accompany Bolt or something. On an unrelated note, I wasn't overly impressed with most of the Harry Potter trailer, so meh.

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog Boy, this one's gonna be a hot potato all the way through with its racial and cultural issues. I personally think that Belle is an excellent feminist role model, so I think maybe they can do it, but that's maybe just me. Anyway, lots of good discussion on jezebel.com if you are so inclined. Most people are not liking the firefly, but he may not be a big player, who knows? |

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog I wasn't really impressed, but then again i wasn't really impressed with Wall-E. Now it's one of my favorite movies. So i won't be quick to judge this one. |

![]() | Re: The Princess and the Frog I liked it. Randy Newman? Hmm maybe not, but the rest was just lovely. Have Disney done this sort of teaser before? Seems like they are taking a leaf from the book of Pixar to me. Which is of course no bad thing.
