After five years of pouring our sweat, passion, and many hours of work, I can't tell you how amazingly cool it is to see our little film out in the world and doing so well. It may sound weird to refer to Up as a "little film", but until it came out that's how it felt. Now, thanks to all of you, thousands of people around the world have seen and enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and for getting the word out -- it's nice to know you're out there!

Also with summer starting, I can see Up playing well for at least a few more weeks. Not sure if it will catch Star Trek, but it will certainly overtake Monsters vs. Aliens this week. It won't really see any "animated" competition until July 1st with Ice Age (why we need another one of those is beyond me though).

"UP" crossed the $200 million mark on Thursday and has added an additional $6.2 million from its Friday June 19th take to stay afloat in the top five coming in the fourth place behind 'The Proposal', 'The Hangover' and 'Year One'.

Disney-Pixar’s “Up” came in third at this weekend's boxoffice in its fourth week in theatres bringing in an estimated $21.3 million. This brings its domestic total to $224.1 million.
“Up” has Paramount’s “Star Trek” in it's sights to become the most successful film of the year at the domestic B.O. As of today, “Star Trek” has grossed $239.4 million.

Finishing No. 1 in 11 markets, including Ukraine, Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia, was Pixar/Disney's "Up," which collected $6 million from 2,051 locations. The animated feature's overseas cume, during a graduated rollout, is $38.8 million.

"Up's" marathon foreign rollout suddenly turned into a sprint over the weekend as the Pixar/Disney animation title in 3D took the No. 1 spot for the first time this year with a boxoffice tally of $13.7 million from 2,718 locations in 23 countries.

Although in offshore release since May 29, "Up" had mostly ranked towards the middle of the pack each round thanks to its graduated foreign distribution pattern spaced over seven months in order to capitalize on school holidays and other local factors worldwide.

"Up's" total overseas take stands at nearly $200 million ($196.7 million) with a slew of key foreign markets -- including Italy, the U.K., all of Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, Turkey and Poland -- to play before its foreign run ends Dec. 5 in Japan. These territories are expected to add at least another 40% to 50% of the current take in foreign boxoffice.
