Twilight Movie Reviews

I know there are quite a few of you who have been waiting anxiously for this movie to come out . And as much as I would like to see it the minute it comes out (midnight shows tonight), I won't be able to go see it until later next week, so I want to hear your reviews! Did you love it? Did you hate it? Did it run close to the book? Were the characters played how you imagined them from the book? Let's here from you...

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

Too be honest i wished it was longer so they could put more of the story in the movie. They did take some liberties which has angered some fans but over all my daughters and I liked it. My adopted daughter didn't like it . She felt they took too many liberties and should have stuck by the book.

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

So after getting 3 hours of sleep from going to the midnight showing, I will tell you that I LOVED it! The thing about going to see it is, you do have to remember that it was the movie BASED on the book and obviously they had to leave some things out and throw in some new things to have it work out correctly, especially since the book is completely from Bella's perspective.. I though it was amazing. The characters/actors were great and perfectly cast. I just loved it and am totally stoked I'm going back to watch it with my mom on Saturday.

PS: I will add this. Try to be sure to have read Twilight before you go to see it, because you'll catch a lot more of the hidden innuendos, plus it makes it more fun.

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

Overall, I'd give it 2 out of 4 stars. I did like it but didn't love it; probably would have loved it if I didn't have to watch it from the 3rd row from the screen. Edward and Bella were perfectly cast. There are several times when you are laughing when you probably shouldn't be. The bad makeup/special effect was making him sparkle. We were cracking up! He looked like he was sweating. SO not good! Loved Renee and Charlie -- both were well cast. The soundtrack was great, settings were gorgeous (it is my home!). Had to laugh at how ethnically diverse Forks is! Emmmet was great. I also like Jasper but my sister didn't. Alice is too tall; Rosalie just didn't work for me. Carlisle's dye job didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Jacob's wig was horrible!

Oh, when we were leaving the theater we saw these women taking a picture of this car's license plate -- it was a Volvo with personalized plates that said CULLEN.

I enjoyed the movie so much. Yes, things were left out, things were put in, but over all i believe they did a wonderful job! Although I still don't like how we met Jacob in the movie. But other than that, loved it!

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

Wow. The midnight showing was packed last night. There were so many fangirls out past their bedtimes!

I have to say, I loved these books. But the movie was just crap, IMO. It felt very low budget and made-for-tv. And I felt the characters were very badly miscast.

Rosalie's supposed to be this amazingly beautiful girl, but in the movie, she looks like a dude. She has this really masculine square jaw and a fugly little mole. Yech.

I thought Jacob was supposed to be hot? I was mesmerized by his ugliness.

Peter Facinelli, the actor playing Carlisle? Just looked like a doucherocket. I haaaaaaaaaate that guy.

And the chick playing Esme was none other than the crazy chick who pissed her pants on Grey's Anatomy. Very hard to see past that.

I didn't hate Bella any more than I hated her in the books, although her continual monotone delivery grated on my nerves.

Robert Pattinson was kind of hot, as long as he wasn't trying to act all broody. When are people going to realize brooding = retarded?

I felt the special effects were just kind of meh.

I did, however, adore the Harry Potter trailer! Squee! That trailer got more applause from a theatre full of giggly fangirls than the movie did.

Don't hold anything back, SunnyG, how did you really feel about the movie?

I do have to agree that there was a definite low budget feel to the movie.

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

I thought it was fantastic, in a EMO, teenage girl type of way. Robert was beautiful and I totally had a few Mrs. Robinson moments when he was on, but whenever Carlisle came on the screen, I only had eyes for him. (I guess I love men more then boys. Which is a good thing, seeing that I am way past teenagehood.)

I thought it was true to the book. The location was so beautiful and the music was awesome. (I ran out to Target after the movie to pick up the soundtrack so I could listen to it on the way home.) I thought the actors they chose were perfect for the role. I'm glad they picked "unknowns" instead of A listers. It gave it a more personal and intimate quality to it if you know what I mean.

It was a bit slow and the effects, like some have already mentioned, were a bit cheesy. The director used way too many close-ups but not enough kissing. Well, they kiss a bit more in the second book, so I have that to look forward to at least. Even with all its faults, I still loved it, but like sunnygirl said, I enjoyed the HP trailer better as well. It is hard to beat HP, but Twilight tried real hard and I for one enjoyed their efforts.

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

I went to the midnight showing last night too. I thought the movie was OK, which is what I was expecting. I had hoped that it would exceed my expectations, but it didn't really. I think this movie had wayy to many intense looks that made me crack up, especially when Edward is driving away from Bella's house and passes Billy Black, and the glares that they exchange! I LOL'ed.

One part I thought was funny too, Jessica's line: "That's Jasper, the one that always looks like he's in pain". I thought Jessica was perfectly cast, too! I loved the casting for this movie, I thought everyone was pretty well cast. I would have liked to see a bit more of the Cullen's though, Jasper had like 2 lines!

What was with all the close-ups on everyone's eyes when the Nomad vampires crashed the baseball game? I understand it was probably to show the difference, but did they really have to keep cutting back and forth?

What happened to the freakin' meadow?! That was a pivotal moment in the book, and was what inspired the whole book series. Stephenie Meyer had a dream about a Vampire boy and Human girl in a meadow and it inspired her to write Twilight. I don't see why they didn't have the full meadow scene where he walks into the sunlight. Maybe because they're sparkle effect looked fuzzy and sweaty

It was an OK movie. I'll buy when it comes out on DVD and possibly again in the theater if a friend wants to go, now that I know what cheesiness to expect I can probably enjoy it more.

Oh, and I did NOT get an HP trailer in my theater!! I would have loved that since I was wearing my Hufflepuff scarf!!

Re: Twilight Movie Reviews

Something else I wanted to add, Rob needs a better voice coach or something because his accent slipped through at times and other times it seemed like he was talking through his teeth, it was distracting.
