About a Boy director offered New Moon:

Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton Blog Archive About A Boy Director Offered Twilight Sequel Job

Here's my 2cents:
I love About a Boy. Seriously I think that movie is so great. The American Pie movies represent my late teens/early 20s (the first 3. The last ones... they were crud). Their soundtracks were the music of those years for me. Didn't see Golden Compas. I hate Nicole Kidman (lay off the botox). But it looked wonderful. This could be good, could be very good. Could also be iffy. At least it won't be 70s lighting though!

More on the New Moon/New director thing. Kinda' sucks for Taylor but anyone who read the books knows "um... you kinda' need two different guys." Maybe pre-change we get Taylor then a wolfy hot guy?

Rumor has it, Jacob is going to re-cast. They have until March to cast him or prove that he (Taylor) can be digitally changed to look bulky-er.

I feel bad for Taylor. Like yeah he's not the guy I would've picked for Jacob, but still did a good job in the role and he had charisma. Your eyes watched him not Bella or anyone else on screen. Maybe they could use him for half the movie and then when they change use someone else. Like his face changed when he changed right?

Re: New Moon Movie (Twilight Saga Book #2)

I love Perez. Seriously he is more of a Twilight fan (or Robert Pattinson, don't know which one) than I am so there's all sorts of goodies. But this is kinda' creepy:
Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton Blog Archive Get Your Very Own R-Patz!
It sorta reminds me what I did for a friend who loved Morrisey: made her a knit doll so she could say she slept with him. Now everyone can say they... yeah.

OMG I didn't even think of that! How perfect!

I know the change of director is tough, and I'll miss Catherine, but it should not be directed by a man. It just... can't.
--
oh.. and uhm.... Taylor was quoted in interviews etc. saying he was contracted for all 3 movies. So unless Summit plans on breaching contract, then he's staying. And the guy they're looking at? Michael Copon? He's 26. Isn't that as old as Gaspard Ulliel when Stephenie Meyer said she didn't want him anymore because he's too old to play her teenagers.
Whoever this new director is had BETTER give Stephenie the same respect and flexibility that Catherine did.

Re: New Moon Movie (Twilight Saga Book #2)

Snape would be perfect for one of the Volturi, he's dark like that and his skin was pale in the HP movies so he'd fit right in.

I'm sure Stephenie will have big input on the movie no matter what, I think she even has final script approval and whatnot, I know she did for the first movie. I read somewhere (Meg Cabot's blog, maybe?) that the author gets paid less if they want a bigger input on how close to the book the movie is and paid more if they don't much care.

Alice's Wonderland - Yes, Hot Topic does have 2 1000 piece puzzles. One with the cast movie poster, the other is the movie poster with just B&E. They are both really dark so it'll be REALLY hard. My mom and I are deciding which one to get, as we love doing puzzles. Our store had them as well as online. They are $20 each.

Yeah, but now Jacob will be 16, almost 17 and Taylor right now, doesn't look like he could be a big, strong werewolf. Jacob changes psychically and he looks older and different all of a sudden and I can't see that with Taylor unless they do a heck of a lot of digital work, but they budget for this movie isn't too much bigger than the first.
Jacob needs to be tall, muscular and yet a beanpole at the same time.

Well that doesn't change the fact that they wrote up a contract for ALL 3 movies.. if anyone Steven Strait is perfect for it, he's 22 and... older Jacob looking. Michael Copon is too old. And if they do cast him, hell will be raised questioning Robert's casting over Gaspard because he was too old.

Re: New Moon Movie (Twilight Saga Book #2)

Chris Weitz has been conformed as director by Stephenie.
I've had the chance to talk to Chris, and I can tell you that he is excited by the story and eager to keep the movie as close to the book as possible. He is also very aware of you, the fans, and wants to keep you all extremely happy. (Torches and pitchforks are not going to be necessary.)

I'm excited to work with Chris and I think he brings a lot to the table, not the least of which for me is that he wrote the screenplay for and directed one of my favorite movies of all time, About a Boy. I'm really looking forward to seeing his vision for New Moon.

She also posted a letter from him, which you can read. In the letter he says that he has seen Twilight in which he was 'alternately entranced and left hungry for more.' He says he is a fan of Catherine and that he will devote himself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can brought to the screen.

Re: New Moon Movie (Twilight Saga Book #2)

Regarding Jacob:
Can't they have Taylor as pre-change Jake (so they fulfill his contract...) and then the hot legal actor version of Jacob for post change? Maybe do something where they look quasi-the same but... I just don't see how one man (or in this case) teen can play 2 very distinctly different looking roles.

Chris Weitz:
I knew I liked Stephenie for a reason! About A Boy is probably in my top 20 movies. And the way colors were used, yay. Didn't see Golden Compas though. Maybe I'll rent it...
