A Holiday "Sleeper": Christmas In Connecticut

This thread is about a movie, and a "heads up" about its presentation on TV. So, which thread to put it in. What to do, what to do.

I decided on...this forum (as you might have figured out by now).

Anyway, as much as I love It's A Wonderful Life and so many of the other great Christmas movies, I think this one is very underrated...a "sleeper" if you will...

From the Turner Classic Movies website...

Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan star in Christmas in Connecticut (1945), a romantic comedy set during the holidays at wartime. Stanwyck plays Elizabeth Lane, a columnist for "Smart Housekeeping," THE magazine for aspiring homemakers. Every month she details her domestic triumphs from the idyllic setting of her farm in Connecticut. Touted as the "greatest cook in the country," she seems to have it all - a beautiful home, a happy husband, an adorable baby and of course, plenty of livestock. Elizabeth Lane is a role model to millions of readers who turn to her every month for guidance and inspiration.

But as you might suspect, there is more to this story than meets the eye, and that of course is where the fun comes in.

This is a young (and rather alluring, I must say) Stanwyck at her best. And Morgan and Sydney Greenstreet are also very good.

Check it out, set the DVD, VCR, TiVo, whatever...it shows on TCM beginning December 13...Comments from anyone who has also seen this film, or might be planning to see it, are welcome.
