The Goonies II

Hey you guuuuuuyssss......

Goonies II may be happening afterall!

There is a special article featuring the cast of The Goonies in the new issue of Empire magazine coming out soon. Here's a little bit about it:
Moviehole. There's a Goonies reunion?

Also, Corey Feldman mentions some stuff in his Blog today:
BIG NEWS!!! GOONIES REUNION IS A REALITY!!!! The Feldman Journal

Apparently, there is supposed to be some announcement in the aforementioned issue of Empire magazine! Right on! Something must be brewing if even Spielberg is in the pic. I just hope he doesn't put Chunk into a lead-lined fridge full of ice cream.

Goonies never say die!

Yup, gonna have to wait and see what it says in this new issue of Empire magazine. Hopefully there will be something about Goonies 2.

Re: The Goonies II

Unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen. This has been more specualted about than Ghostbusters 3 (We are getting that movie). This has been discussed before and the original plans for a sequal would have a new group of "Goonies" get into trouble with the original cast coming in to save them.

But the latest I've heard is that there actually planning a broadway musical of the film (no joke) and that is the big announcement.

I would hate to be wrong here but I don't think we are getting a Goonies Sequel.

Re: The Goonies II

Not to be too skeptical, but I'd say it ain't gonna happen. There's been chatter and rumors for YEARS about a Goonies sequel. I believe Donner and company even had a fairly fleshed out idea for one a couple years back, but the studio wasn't interested. Any talk I've seen this week of it being back on track is pure speculation based only on the fact that they're featured in this new magazine issue. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the idea, but I'm sure as heck not getting my hopes up just because the original gang posed for a few pictures together.

Re: The Goonies II

If it happens and it's done right... HELL YEAH!

If it doesn't happen... I'll be bummed but it's not the end of the world.

I loved The Goonies. I saw it 4 times in the theatre and bought it as soon as it came out on video... and that was a time when movies came out on video a year after it was in the theatre and then only to rent at first and you had to wait at least 6 months before there were copies in stores to buy. I still have my original video I rented back in 1986 (which is now retired since I have it on DVD) and refused to give up, so my mom had to pay a lot of money after talking the video store manager into letting her buy it because I was having a severe hissy fit otherwise. Man I was a spoiled brat.

^ He was joking around. I saw this video on AICN awhile back and everyone freaked out until it was later revealed he was completely messing with the interviewer.

My thoughts exactly. Harrison Ford was seen to be too old for that stuff and now we have thirty- and forty-somethings doing a sequel to a movie they made when they where kids? Even the Ghostbusters team are talking of passing the baton to younger players. I don't like this idea at all but I am buying Empire today anyway so will report any further details....

(Now Gremlins 3 is something I would like to see!)

Re: The Goonies II

That is an awesome drawing! Man, I love the Goonies, classic 80's film. I can remember riding bikes around the neighbourhood I grew up in playing Goonies. I'd love to see a second movie so long as they have a good story to tell.

Re: The Goonies II

Well, we might not be getting a Goonies 2, but, here's the video from the Empire Magazine reunion:

Video Footage: The Goonies Reunion | Hey U Guys

Apparently there is a big Goonies 25th anniversary event taking place next year in Astoria. Who knows, maybe some of them might show up.
