David, seriously, I loved Wall-E wayy better than Bolt IMO but not better than UP.

I think that's the beauty of Pixar. Everyone's going to have a different top 10. I feel like I reorder with each new film they release. Up falls right behind The Incredibles and the Toy Story films for me. I liked Finding Nemo, but it is my least favorite Pixar movie. I know that it is a lot of people's favorite.

Oh, that's not the argument. I don't mind if you like Up better or even A Bug's Life better. I was just arguing to those who flat out think Wall-E sucks.

Screw you all, Cohete? I hope I'm not included in that because I actually really liked Wall E. I love that cute lil guy. I was rolling when he put the bra on his head, and was hitting himself with the paddle ball. I'd even say that I liked Wall E more than Up, which comes in a very close second. Bugs Life, eh, it's a bit old. I guess one of my only favorite parts of the movie are the "outtakes."

The only pixar films I have yet to see are Ratatoullie and Cars, which I've only seen the ending of.

I totally agree. Wall-E is probably one of the, if not THE most romantic movie of the decade. Including The Notebook. It's just so amazing, so touching.

It's the little things in Wall-E that stand out to me. When people say it was so bad I really have to wonder if they saw the same movie I did.

Re: Pixar's Up - MiceChat Reviews!

I think the thing about Wall-E that many people may not get or appreciate is that it's just flat out amazing. And what's amazing about it may not be recognizable for those who like going to the movies vs those who love film.

And that's why it was so critically acclaimed. Up is also highly highly praised. More than I expected it would too. I suppose I had more of a "scratch my head, i don't know what I'm watching anymore" moment when dogs flew planes -- it keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars.

Agreed completely on both parts and I personally have yet to see a well thought out piece of criticism for Wall-E (just why was it "boring" and when? Do you need constant noise and chatter to keep you entertained?).

As for Up, those dogs in general felt awkward and out of place and keep me too from giving the film 5 stars (which to me would be a film where I wouldn't change anything really at all, like Coraline ).

It was boring in the beginning.... it was way too long and drawn out. They seemed to really hammer home the points of him being alone and yet somehow having electricity and being able to act like a human instead of being a robot. The part on the ship was better but it was still kinda dumb in parts, like the thing w/him floating in space. So much didn't makes sense was way too unplausable (sorry I can't give concertre evdience - I only saw it once and that was enough)

Re: Pixar's Up - MiceChat Reviews!

I will give my review for UP.

I saw the movie today in 3D at my local theater, and I have to admit that this is probably a really great movie! This movie tugged me a little bit (especially the beginning of it). But after that, the movie really gets going!

One of the things that made me laugh a little bit was in the beginning when Carl was getting ready and they played "Carmen" (it made me think of "Bad News Bears" but that is a different story).

Overall, the movie itself was really well-done. It had a very well-done story in that it tells someone to move into the future and try not to dwell in the past so long, and that it is never too late to enjoy your own life (even if you are 78-years-old).

Great movie- that is all I'll say.

Coheteboy, you must've hacked into my brain because that's what I would've written about Wall-E and Up.

For all intents and purposes, Wall-E is a cinematic triumph! NNL, you may have thought those scenes were long and drawn out. However, each and every moment was very essential to fleshing out the character of Wall-E to us. Wall-E is alone in the world and yet not insular. When he meets Hal the roach, he treats him with great kindness and even adopts him as a pet. By contrast, the Axiom residents/passengers are extremely insular and not very engaged in their surroundings at all.

The Wall-E in space scenes were essential as well as it allowed him to experience the world (or outer space rather) in the same way that Eve does. That brings a culmination to the Wall-E admiring Eve from afar scenes earlier in the film.
