Re: The new Alice in Wonderland Trailer!!

Depp's take on the Hatter is that he has mercury poisoning. Mercury was used in the felting process and hat makers breathed in the fumes which sometimes caused neurological damage. Hence the term 'mad as a hatter'. So it seems he's playing the hatter a bit differently than say, the Disney version. Whether it's more true to Carroll's version we'll have to see. But it's a Burton-esque looking film, and I'm expecting it to be a bit on the creepy side.

Yeah it is defeintly gonna be darker and creepy. None the less, I am interested to see the point of the White Queen played by Anne Hathaway.

It's too short and too soon to be the full trailer. It's the "official" teaser trailer.

Visually, it was fantastic, but the teaser didn't wow me at all. The music (which I get was just recycled Danny Elfman music, another reason this is the teaser) didn't work once it picked up the pace and the action did not. It clashed in a weird way that wasn't very enjoyable. Again, looks to be a fantastic movie, but I'll wait for the full trailer to make a better judgement call.

Re: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (Trailers Added)

The trailer from Comic-Con had some crazy music in it. I just found out today that it is the group MGMT and the song is Time to Pretend. Very trippy, but it totally works. Tim Burton is stinkin amazing!

Re: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (Trailers Added)

Sadly, the one thing I'm looking forward to most is how Danny Elfman does the score.

I am soooo excited about this film! Alice is my absolute favorite and I know that Burton will be more true to the books than other adaptations. Plus I heard

Spoiler
That there's going to be a big scene with the Jabberwocky, which is my all time favorite poem. I'm sooo excited to see that on the big screen!

Re: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (Trailers Added)

I'm really excited for this movie. I wasn't at first, I thought the Mad Hatter looked kind of freaky, and I thought the cheshire cat looked too normal. Now I think it'll actually be a great movie, I like how it's supposed to be different from all the other movies, and I realize that Depp actually has a good portrayal of the mad hatter. Plus, he looks way more freaky in pictures than in the trailer. In the trailer, I realize he's really just an odd, mad character, but it'll make the movie funnier. In the original movie, it seemed like the Cheshire Cat had this part, and the Mad Hatter had a smaller part(though still very mad). My only worry is that the Cheshire Cat won't be as "mad" as the original character, and not too overshadowed by Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter.

can't wait for the film!

in case anyone missed it... there was a traveling exhibition of Alice in Wonderland props and costumes displayed off-site at the San Diego Comic Con.

SDCC 2009 - Disney's Alice inWonderland - San Diego Comic-Con International - FindingMickey.com

not sure if it's been anywhere else or if the exhibition will be at D23.

I have to say I'm VERY excited about the new movie. I was lucky enough to check out the AIW exhibit they had offsite during Comic Con. (got tons of pics I should upload sometime in the future. and tons of invitation keys)
And if nothing else can be said about this movie, the costumes/props are exquisite.
The Costumer's Guide to Movie Costumes the galleries have lots of pics of the exhibit. As far as I know, it will be traveling to different events across the year so I'd look out for it!

Oh! I can only imagine...keep us posted on any information you get. I could tell the costumes would be elaborate just by the pictures of the characters that were released a couple months back. It is going to be an over the top project as a whole -- the cast, costumes, cinematography! I can't wait!

Here is a really cute of Anne Hathaway! She is truly one of my favorite young actresses and she is really maturing and becoming a phenomenal actress in my opinion. I can't wait to see her as the White Queen!
