The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED

With the old thread exceeding 2000 posts, it's time to start a new. So the question remains, WHAT MOVIE DID YOU JUST SEE???

Last night I watched PARANORMAL ACTIVITY -- it's a fun theater experience if you have the right crowd. The girls I went with were freaked out of their minds. Me, it was scary but could have been worse.

The trick about this movie though is that you think about it later on and you start to get jumpy or creeped out at nothing. It's like being a kid scared of the dark all over again.

Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED

Last week in the theater I saw Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story. Quite an eye-opening movie, considering the events happening stateside are having an effect here in Canada, even in my job search. Yes, I know, I guess i contributed to capitalism by watching the flick.

On my Halloween movie list, I watched The Corpse Bride. Great movie and a great original idea from Tim Burton.

Last night I watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on DVD. 2nd time watching it, 1st time since the theater. It's good, but not as great as the first. I find that the acting and the action is a bit to hyperactive. In some parts there's just too much happening on the screen that your brain can't find the time to process everything. And when it does, you get hit in the face by a couple of wrecking balls. I hope they do a better job with the third movie, which I guess is scheduled to hit theaters in 2011 or 2012.

I just saw Amelia today. It was a really good movie. I love Hilary Swank and I've have great respect for her ever since Million Dollar Baby.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - Popped it in this morning to start getting all Halloween-y this week! But to be honest, I didn't stay seated and watch it all intently. I got up and did some house chores from time to time while it was on. It was nice to just hear the soundtrack and dialogue at this time of year. The Blu-ray PQ is so darn sharp too.

Zombieland- Saw it last night at the Regal, and man this was a great movie. Woody Harrelson did a good job with what he got, and it was amusing to see a cameo by a famous celebrity.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves- It was a good movie, considering it was Disney's first full-length animated feature. I do have to admit though Snow White is very naive. I mean, come on! Seven children?! They're men!

Where The Wild Things Are

Great movie, weird and off the wall, but a great movie overall. It played on every emotion.

Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED

Wow, over 2000 posts. That's great!

Anyway, I finally got around to seeing X-Men: The Last Stand. I saw the first two in the theaters, and the spin-off a couple weeks ago on DVD, so I figured I should see the third. I thought it was good, though I found the X-Men themselves curiously detached from the ethical themes this time around, and some of the scenes obviously written to have emotional impact seemed slightly vacant. And I'm not that big on Halle Berry playing Storm. She is every bit deserving of her Oscar, but I never felt she gave much presence to what seems to be an underwritten part anyway. On the other hand, Famke Janssen gave a great performance that really helped make the finale at Alcatraz a moving and worthy franchise ending.

As for Ratner's direction, I know he takes a beating from fanboys online, but he did a decent job at the very least imitating Singer's style, especially given the fact he signed on something like a month before the studio made him shoot.

Got my copy of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs a week ago. Just now got a chance to watch it last night. Forgot how funny the Seven Dwarfs' scenes are.

Just rewatched ALIENS. Great movie. Still odd to see Paul Reiser playing a sleezeball.

I was just thinking I'm going to start watching the Alien movies tonight. Need to do a monster-fest week and those will probably be a good place to start.
