I still don't know if this is considered Batman 2 or Batman 6, anyway here's some news about The Dark Knight, sequal to Batman Begins which is coming out in 2008:

According to Variety, Katie Holmes has dropped out of The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins.

Instead, Holmes has signed on to Queen Latifah's Mad Money, to be directed by Callie Khouri.

There is no word as to what this means to The Dark Knight, though she was not expected to play a significant role.

So would this be considered good news for the movie?

I really didn't see her effecting the movie either way. Batman women tend not to last long in the series, so I was surprised to hear she might even possibly be in the second one at all.

Turning down the Batman sequel for something called 'Mad Money' with Queen Latifah? Do comic book movies really have that much of a stigma in Hollywood? Sounds like a really bad choice to me.

Regardless, to go from Batman to something with Queen Latifah??? I think that is a bad move there.

2 reasons why this happening:

Plot Summary: A crime caper where three working-class women conspire to rob their employer, narrated by one of the women. Based on a true story.

Will probably push it as a modern take on a '9 to 5'-type premise, sell to women

and the film's studio is MGM...

You forgot one. Wasn't Elle Macpherson in the 4th Batman? That movie was bad, really bad.

I didn't forget her, just didn't include her in the upper-tier actress list.
I also didn't include Drew Barrymore either from 'Forever' intentionally, she'd probably appreciate it.
