Re: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

I remember I saw that Clone Wars trailer when it premiered in Los Angeles at Celebration IV last year. Seth Green was sitting in front of me geeking out. I have to admit, I geeked out too. But a lot of it is seeing those scenes with John Williams music! The Clone Wars miniseries on cartoon network stopped being superb when it had cheap synth generic music (the miniseries was still amazing though).

Another thing about the CG I'm not a fan of is that it... looks like CG. Plo Koon looks like he's walking on air. The character designs are very ugly too. But at least we have C-3PO as an original voice I suppose.

I still look forward to seeing it but I hope with it being released theatrically, I hope they do all they can to really beef up the quality of the visuals.

Who confirmed that? I thought the live action series was not going to focus on previously established and well known characters?

Re: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

From what I have read Lucas is basing the series on four or five main characters whom we have never seen before. He honestly believes that it will be so good that he'll be able to spin off each character into their own series and have four or five simultaneous Star Wars series running at once.

Yep, Georgie is off his cosmic rocker.

So certain are you.

I think as long as he passes the direction and major writing to other talented people, it would work to our advantage. (think empire and return of the jedi)

Another one to remember is the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which was a terrific series.

Re: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

Something I heard a couple years back which I am hoping one of you guys can confirm for me -- I heard that Madonna was going to be in the new live action series.

Any validity to this? Was this a rumor or is this something that was going to happen but fell through?

Rumor.

They haven't even begun casting for the live action series yet.

Well, that goes without saying. Star Wars is fantastically rich with untapped potential and in the right hands can be amazing. But after the crapeliciousness of the prequels (and especially Sith) I'll have to see proof that Lucas can set aside his egomaniacal control issues and allow someone else to run the show before I have any faith in Star Wars again. Yeah, it could happen, but I've been burned before.

Hmm... well what did you think of the Clone Wars miniseries?

Read this as if I were Hayden:

Well excuse me, my lady, I think Episode 2 was the most crapelicious Star Wars out there, ahead of only the Holiday Special.

Oh no.. The Holiday special has Han Solo in it which equals insta-win over Episode 2

That's funny, except I'm not a lady. I actually enjoyed Episode 2, though mainly for the large set-piece battles and Jedi fighting bad@SSness.

I haven't gotten around to watching the miniseries. After Sith I just couldn't force myself to sit through anymore of Lucas' crap. I'll probably throw it on the Netflix queue at one time or another though. It sounds generally well liked so I'll give it a shot sometime.
