I said to myself he will most likely need a hard reset and loose his memory. When it did happen, you KNEW he was going to get it back, the question was just how. The deux ex machina of somehow a spark from EVE restoring it made it all the more hokey

I really didn't hate the movie, it just sort of seemed just "there" to me. It was very well animated, and the "camera" work was excellent, it just never sucked me in. -dave

And that's perfectly fine to feel that way! As I've said before, this ain't for everyone. There's certain chords in this film that ring at specific frequencies. Some aren't going to hear it. (i feel that way about Godfather)

Spoiler
EVE was holding WALL-E's damaged hardware, which a few of my friends and I are debating on if it was his actual Motherboard or not given things like the design and the cable that was sticking out. The only thing we can agree on is that WALL-E is a Plug-and-Play model of sorts.

![]() | Re: Wall-E (MiceChat Reviews) In the movie, they point out about the bone loss and how that's due to gravity, but it's also something that (in the movie) Willard's character stresses could be fixed easily by actually moving. Judging on the videos that they show, the humans were never, EVER intended to use the Axiom like they ultimately did...or were they? (DUN DUN DUN!)
Spoiler
I can buy the "spark" and hand hold being able to revive Wall-E because it's essentially a kiss and the intimate connection that he spent the whole darn movie pining for. I mean, technologically speaking, it's different, but I see it as a sort of recall from amnesia, so it sits just fine with me.

Doubt it was the mobo, because he was still functional, just a bit dinged up. -dave

Of course he just said "he liked it" with no more explination than that. I doubt any political candidate would come out of a Disney movie and say "that was a real stinkpile" Kind of a review without meat, sort of like a call to change without a plan, or people returning to Earth and "fixing it up" when of course none of them have any sort of plan either. I will keep my fruit filled pastry firmly on the ground instead of flying through the atmosphere. ![]() -dave

![]() | Re: Wall-E (MiceChat Reviews) Wall-E was a very cute and wonderful movie. One of Pixar best movies. Thinking Wall-E was going to turn out horrible it actually came out a good movie. At least Wall-E was way better then Cars. |

![]() | Re: Wall-E (MiceChat Reviews) Ok I saw it. I liked it. The middle was a bit slow, but overall it was a good film. The message is both subtle and right in your face via the visuals, without being too preachy. Saying that... Presto was freaking hilarious!

![]() | Re: Wall-E (MiceChat Reviews) A late entry as we in the UK only got Wall-E last weekend. I have read a lot about this film being 'adult' and 'not really for kids'. I felt the opposite. I loved the romance, I didn't mind the slow pace (I preferred the scenes on earth to those on the Axiom) and I thought that the visuals were Pixar's best to date. But I was a little let down on two scores: - 1, Although I liked the comedy robots (especially the running gag with Mo), I felt that Wall-E himself had one or two too many slapstick moments while 'courting' Eve. Things like when he was struck by lightning went too far IMO and squashed the sentiment somewhat. 2, I was a little let down by the 'cartooniness' of the human characters which was hammered home by the use of live footage. I liked the reference to the fact that this was due to 'devolution', but the design still jarred against the footage of Fred Willard and Michael Crawford. This said, I generally don't completely enjoy Pixar movies upon first viewing and will more than likely fall in love with it when I undoubtably buy it DVD (as was the case with The Incredibles, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo and Cars - I loved Ratatouille straight away!). The visuals were beautiful and I adored the opening with 'Sunday Clothes' played over the space scenes. And yes, Presto was hilarious. Chuck Jones would be proud!
