Good Call on SRV

Pretty much the ones everyone has already listed would be high on my list along with these:

The Ramones
Metallica (w/Cliff Burton)
Alice in Chains
Bobby Darin
N.W.A (w/ Easy E)
Boogie Down Productions (w/ DJ Scott La Rock)
AC/DC (w/ Bonn Scott)
Bob Marley and The Wailers
Johnny Cash
The Original Temptations
...The list can go on and on and on. Just like the beat...oh that reminds me
Sonny and Cher.

Sgt. Pepper, I thought I was in a lonley club until your post. I'd like to add Run DMC and Mac Dre to that list as well, but Metallica w Cliff definatly takes the cake, frosting, candles and serving plates.

And how about Levi Stubbs and the Four Tops

Dinah Washington, too...

I would like to see INXS reunited with Michael Hutchence. Queen with Freddy Mercury. Beatles with both John Lennon and George Harrison. Beach Boys with Carl and Dennis Wilson. AC/DC with Bon scott. Doors with Jim Morrison. But what I would kill to see though is a guitar duel with Stevie Ray Vaughn against Jimi Hendrix with Buddy Rich drumming for SRV and John Bonham drumming for Hendrix.

Aww yes, the great Levi Stubbs, i completely spaced The Four Tops. Well heck, if you think about it, most of the early Motown sound would be playing in Rock n Roll heaven. You got Tami Terrell, Marvin Gaye, Flo Ballard of The Supremes, Mary Wells and a few others.

Now that i think of it let me add Billie Holiday to my list as well.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dick Dale recently at the special bebefit for Carl Wilson's Foundation at the Roxy. I asked him about his incredible collaboration with Stevie on "Pipeline"...his words on that subject were short and sweet..."just incredible".

Pretty well says it all, I think.

Newly added to the Rock'N'Roll Heaven roster...

Quote:
Alan Gordon, 64, a songwriter who with his writing partner Garry
Bonner penned the Turtles' No. 1 hit "Happy Together" and other
catchy
pop songs in the 1960s, died of cancer Nov. 22 at his home in
Scottsdale, Ariz.

Besides "Happy Together," which topped the charts in March 1967, the
songwriting duo also wrote "She'd Rather Be With Me," "You Know What I
Mean" and "She's My Girl" for the Turtles, as well as "Celebrate" for
Three Dog Night.
"Happy Together" is one of those songs that has a timeless quality.

Of course, "if I should call you up, invest a dime"...might possibly be adjusted for inflation.

What about Boston? They are touring with a new lead singer that was discovered by an youtube video after the lead singer killed himself.

The Rock'N'Roll Heaven band gained another member today. Dennis Yost, singer for the band Classics IV (Spooky, Traces, Stormy), a great voice.
