Right on. I love No Doubt.

Here's an interesting tid-bit : I sat next to Tony Kanal in Spanish Class at Anaheim High School in the 1985-1986 school year. As I recall, he was pretty quiet...but an good student.

It didn't dawn on my until about 1997 - a couple years after Tragic Kingdom was released that, after reading an article in the OC Register, that Tony was the same Tony that I sat next too in class.

I can't say he'd actually remember me by name - but I am sure he'd probably remember the class. I had a friend in that class that I was constantly getting into mischief with....and I would be willing to bet he'd recall that.

No Doubt, Fall Out Boy Set For Bamboozle

After its weekend announcement that it was heading back on tour, No Doubt has revealed its first show of 2009.

The group will headline the second day of the Live Nation-promoted Bamboozle festival on May 3 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J. Fall Out Boy will headline the opening day.

Two-day and VIP passes are available from the festival's Web site, with single-day tickets going on sale Friday (Nov. 28).

As previously reported, No Doubt has been in the studio on and off this year to work on the follow-up to 2001's "Rock Steady." Frontwoman Gwen Stefani gave birth to her second son in August.

No Doubt Drummer Says New LP Won't Be Ready This Year

'We're going to continue to work on music while we're traveling,' Adrian Young promises.

No Doubt had fans salivating when they announced in November that they'd be hitting the road in 2009. Earlier this year, frontwoman Gwen Stefani said a new album was in the works.

Now, drummer Adrian Young added to the No Doubt updates when MTV News caught up with him at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas '08 in Los Angeles.

While Young said there will be no new music from the group in 2009, he promises that the band is hard at work and has been for quite a while.
"We've been working on a new record off and on now for a bit of time, and we're going to continue to work on a new record next year," he said.

"We're going to start touring in the spring of '09 through the summer, and we're going to continue to work on music while we're traveling. [We'll have] a mobile studio on the bus and eventually get to a new No Doubt record."

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ --Grammy-winning rock band No Doubt announced plans for their 2009 summer tour today.

The band will launch their highly anticipated tour this May, playing outdoor amphitheaters and arenas throughout the summer. Singer Gwen Stefani said, "The whole reason for going on this tour was to have fun, try on all our favorite songs again and to get inspired to make new music. It feels good to be all together again."

No Doubt has selected Paramore as the special guest for the tour. "What a dream tour! We couldn't be more excited to kick off 2009 by touring with a band like No Doubt," said Paramore singer Hayley Williams.

"Get there early ... this is going to a be a great night from the moment the lights go down," said bassist Tony Kanal.

The third act that will open the show will be shared among The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash. Check your local listings for more specific information.

"Now that five years have passed, the excitement level for us is extremely high. We are so fresh and ready! I feel like a kid again when rehearsing these songs," said drummer Adrian Young.

The 2009 No Doubt Summer Tour will be produced by Live Nation and will include stops in both the U.S. and Canada. The band last toured in 2004, co-headlining with Blink 182.

Grammy-winning alt-pop band No Doubt have announced dates for their 45-city summer tour, beginning May 3 at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, N.J. and running through Aug. 1 in Irvine, Calif. As previously reported, the band will be supported by Paramore, and joined on select dates by the Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash.

Tickets go on sale to the public March 7 at LiveNation.com, with a fan club pre-sale beginning today through March 1. Details on the pre-sale are available at nodoubttourclub.musictoday.com. Tickets for the Bamboozle Festival are currently on sale.

NBC morning show sets summer concert series

NEW YORK -- No Doubt, Dave Matthews Band, All-American Rejects, Flo Rida, Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson are among the bands and musicians scheduled to appear on NBC's "Today" as part of the morning television show's 14th annual summer concert series.

The 2009 "Toyota Concert Series on Today" kicks off May 1 with No Doubt, the band's first live concert appearance since reforming after a five-year hiatus. The concert series runs every Friday throughout the summer.

The early morning concert events take place in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, just outside "Today's" Window on the World Studio. Viewing for fans is free on a first come, first served basis.

For groups like Kings of Leon and the Dave Matthews Band, this summer's "Today" show appearances will mark their first morning television concerts. But other bands, like the All-American Rejects, keep coming back for more.
