Awesome Duck, we'll share some Metallica Stories over a beer the next time you are down. Oh, just so you know, I haven't heard any Metallica music since the Black Album.
Funny. We met him right after Load came out when they cut their hair. We teased him about it and he played right along.

James used to live in my town in the North Bay. We'd always see him driving around town in his lifted black Bronco with huge Bull horns on the front. One night we were at the local bar and he was there. My buddy walked to his table and said we loved his music and he didn't want to bother him but bought him a beer. Put the drink down and walked away. 10 minutes later Hetfield joined us at the bar, asked what we were drinking, bought a round and drank beers with us while B.S'ing. Very cool moment.

Best part was one friend slapped his arm around Hetfields shoulder and asked "Dude, what's it like to be you?" We all kinda slapped our foreheads but, at the same time, waited for him to answer.

I always thought of you as a Rob Halford groupie.

Nice job Clinks, they're one of the few bands that I grew up listening to that I haven't seen in concert. Pity me now because my wife is forcing me to go see Madonna for her birthday.

Re: Rush in Concert!!! Pictures and Reviews from 2 Shows in 1 week

Okay, so here is what happened:

I got my tickets about a week before the show when they went on sale for $79 ($20 off the $99 tickets). The seats I ended up getting were in Orchestra row Z (which is about the middle of the orchestra) and off to the right. I was pretty stoked.

After I went to the show on Tuesday, and seeing where the seats were I didn't think my Son would be able to see from those seats. Awesome for me, not so much for a 10 year old.

When we got to the Nokia, and sat in our seats it was pretty evident really quick.

So I went to talk to the Usher, who then sent us to one of the managers.

I had originally asked to just be moved back to the Loge or even Mezzanine so he could see better. I wasn't expecting any special treatment, nor did I ask for it. I was more than willing to take a hit on the tickets.

They went WAY above and beyond. Basically they put us in the area that is reserved for people in wheelchairs. Not only that, but we were no longer to the right, but basically 2 or 3 feet from the Soundboard. We didn't have to stand once the entire show, he got to sit down and enjoy his first Rush show. It was awesome. The staff at Nokia was amazing. They treated us like VIP's. The people sitting right in front of us (who had to stand the whole show) paid $150+ for their seats. I paid $80 and had (IMO) a better view.

Anyway, on to more pics:

Limelight:

Digital Man:

Ghost of a Chance:

He's loving it:

Mission:

Freewill:

The Main Monkey Business:

The Larger Bowl (with McKenzie Bros. Intro)

Red Barchetta:

The Trees:

Between The Wheels

Dreamline

That was the end of the first set. Since they have so many songs to play now (over 3 hours they played) they take a 20 minute break and come out for a 2nd (and longer) set.

Set 2 pictures coming up.

Re: Rush in Concert!!! Pictures and Reviews from 2 Shows in 1 week

2nd Set - They started off with 5 straight songs from their new album Snakes and Arrows. Which was fine with me because I think it's their strongest album since 1994's Counterparts.

Far Cry:

Working Them Angels:

Armor and Sword

Spindrift:

The Way the Wind Blows:

Then they went back in time, all the way to 1981.

Subdivisions:

Natural Science:

Witch Hunt:

Malignant Narcissism:

Neil's Drum Solo:

Alex played Hope (the acoustic guitar song I use on my Animal Kingdom video if you've seen it) next, but none of the pics turned out good.

The Spirit of Radio:

2112:

Tom Sawyer:

So I've seen Rush 7 times now (my first show was in 1990 when I was in the 9th grade). I have to say, this was probably the best show I've seen. Maybe it was the seats, maybe it's because I got to see how much fun my Son was having enjoying my favorite band, but it was something. Truly a night I won't soon forget.

Hope you all enjoyed.

Great set Gregg. They always seem to mix up the songs perfectly from old to new. Have you ever seen the Rush show in a Planetarium? I saw it in Pheonix, awesome.
