Darkbeer, you know I love ya, but in all fairness Al broke the rumor that McDonalds was leaving, back in February:

And I have acknowledge it many times...

But I was the one who first stated the exact date of the removal.

AL and I talked about it last week.

My post was basically confirmation of the comments made, but hard facts make the news easier, and it was my post that Nancy Luna referred to....

ORDDU: In a way it seems pointless to bash McDonald's for their greasy fast food offerings when--even after they go away--Disney will continue serving their own brand of junk foods to guests.

ORGOCH: Not that there's anything wrong with junk food. Look what it's done fer sister, Orwen! It's made her a bigger person! (Don't they always say it's better ta be the bigger person?)

I personally don't bash McDonald's for their greasy food (they're actually the more healthy of the fast food chains)... but I don't want them there simply because they're McDonalds.

Hooray! Do you know how many times I have purchased French Fries or any other McDonald's food at Disneyland - NEVER. Why, when I can go across the street from Disneyland and buy it there?

This is good news, indeed.

I am with you DD. I have never, ever bought fries at DL. Why? When there's a ton of other treats I'd rather have that I can ONLY get at DL?

I don't know guys, I just think the Starcade (or something like it) would be better for DTD instead of TL. I just don't think paying $69 to enter the park to spend another $20 - $40 on video games works. Just like this McDonald's thing; Why spend $69 - $94 to pay $4-$5 dollars for something off the $1 menu? Just my 2 cents.

When I was a kid, me and my friends spent considerable time in the Starcade because it was fun. We don't have air hockey tables at home and there's something about Disneyland's atmosphere that makes us want to play there. In the 80s, it was a great spot to get away from the crowds as well.

Re: Disneyland to McDonald's : Get Out

Woo Hoo!! Ding Dong the Clown is Gone!!! Now if only WDW would wise up. When did they start their sponsorship in WDW? I know when I worked at Casey's on Main Street we had shoe string salt infused fries (yes, it's sad, I remember the technical terms) and they were the best fries in the park. Casey's was sponsored by Coca Cola. Every stand in the park had different kinds of fries but I don't remember if they were sponsored by McD's.

I think it doesn't really matter what the activity is, if it's something you did as a kid in Disneyland you'll always have a place in your heart for it. For instance, I used to love the Gummi Bears boats when I was a kid. I wanted to go on them again and again. I know they are lame and I was still devastated when they got pulled out. If they ever came back, I would be first in line to ride them again. It's just part and partial, the whole Disney gig.

So is Labor Day or the day after that (Sept 2) they stop serving these soy-wax-covered McFries?
